The original term "keeping room" referred to the large central room in the homes of early settlers during the Colonial days (not unlike the family rooms of today). It was there the family would cook, eat, and gather together...a warm place where people talked, learned, and lived.******* THE KEEPING ROOM offers 19th Century Wares & Small Things Forgotten such as, hand dipped beeswax candles, handmade soaps, herbs, handpainted signs, watercolor replicas, primitive smalls, reproductions, and more! I'd love to hear your comments. Please sign the guestbook while visiting! Thank you, Debbie*********************** Our hours are by chance or appointment Phone: 606-349-3358 Debbie Connelley - Shopkeeper
