Tracy: Hi, I came across your site while researching deformed box turtles. I had to look twice when I saw the picture of your Scooter, he looks nearly identicle to my little guy Peanut! Peanut has a calcium deficiency due to neglect when he was young. I got him when he was about 6 years old and he was in pretty bad shape. He is 14 now and doing much better! I hope Scooter is doing well too. Your website is amazing, keep it up.

Barbara Lash: Hi Julie, First I want to thank you for all the info. and the web sites you sent to me. It was most informative about the cedar chips wow I will never use them for anything much less a pet. Also the heat rock that's in the trash as of tonight. Do your BT's hibernate in the house or outside. I knew of somebody here in Lindenhurst that had Bt for about 20yrs. They would dig in the ground and hibernate till year they frooze on the way up parents and babies we had a cold snap in early then snow so this leaves me to think they could be hurt to be left outside. Can you help me out with an answer for this situation? What is the safest for the Boxies?
Thank you,
Barbara in Levittown

Barbara Lash: Hi Julie, Love the picof your turtles and the cat. My heart felt feeling for the poort Boxie I saw to. Poor little darling he needed to go to a vet. How do I apply for a valid license to keep a boxie? Or even adopt a healthy boxie I don't want my turtle to die or be sick. Lots of people think Iam nuts takeing a turtle for a yearly ck. up. But I think it is a good idea. My 2 asians bt let ne oet there head and rub there shells I touch there feet to me they understand and my little boy Zeus thinks he is almost human and dwhen he wants to he can sure move pretty fast. My little girl Gabriel is more dosile and sweet. She is like a little lady. Please let me know any more info? I tried clicking on turtlesrescues and nothing happened, maybed the internet is just slow and Iam excited. Thank you.
Best Wishes
Barbara Lash

Dinees Ponton: I really enjoyed your pictures. I got my daughter a box turtle in October 2003. I have been studing up on them and learning as much as I can. I just adore her little Peete. I have gas heat and put a vaporizer in the room. I may have to do something else. I am not ready to move her to an outside habitat. I know that they are better, but I need to get all the know how down first.

Margaret: Julie, the chair that the beautiful cat is reading the t.v. guide is exactly the same material as my dining chairs. Who says great minds don't think alike. The tortoises are beautiful just like the cats. We also have 2 dogs, 3, cats, 2 russians,3 ornate boxies, 2 grown 3-toed boxies and 4 baby 3-toed boxies. I don't know how to post pictures, so I haven't done that yet. I have sent some to Joe by scanner when I needed him to identify something. I do enjoy reading your posts and you have been a great help to others, myself included. Thank you
Margaret

Everything looks very nice though and I'm sure your turtles are very happy with their homes and appreciative that you take good care of them.
