Anne Eckert Valliere: We were from Taneytown, but I remember going to Littlestown as a child. We would eat at the Scotties Restaurant there - I believe that was the name of it.
I am researching my family tree and now know that my great grandfather to the 5th power, Conrad ECKERT was the ninth person to obtain land around Christ United Church of Christ Reformed Church. He got his land warrant, not from William Penn, but from Digges. My ggg grandfather and several others are buried there. I have the Digges Choice Book which explains and shows the parcels of land that he had at the time. I believe that his land was adjacent to the church.
If you have any pictures that identify the ECKERT family would love to see them. Thanks and the visit was great.

Carole Pautenis Hymiller: Wow! Memories! My mother and mother-in-law both worked at the Silk Mill and my husband and I both attended St. Aloysius school and Delone. It's nice to remember the way things were. Our old house on South Queen has been restored to a certain degree by the current owners, but for most of my years there, it was red brick with green shutters. We visit Littlestown every few years to visit family and we always drive around to see what has remained the same and what is different. One can almost taste Feezer's ice cream and Texas Lunch hot dogs!

Sophia (Pautenis) Staecker: The pictures on the site bring back wonderful memories. My father, Pius V. Pautenis, Sr., owned Sylvia Garments (the sewing factory) on West King Street. All that's left of it, now, is the front house portion. Our house was South Queen Street, not far from the Canning Factory, until the very early '70's. I left there officially when I was about 8, and have been many places since. Thankfully, I have been able to go back and visit off and on over the years, as I still have family there. I remember the five and dime store, going to Boydies, and when farm land pretty much surrounded the town. Thanks for sharing these wonderful pics!

Sharon Dodrer: My late husband, Howard O. Dodrer, Jr. was born and raised in Littlestown and apparently his family had many generations living in the area. As a visitor to Littlestown several times I was impressed with the friendliness there and felt a strong sense of the history there. I would love to visit again.

They lived in Littlestown most of their lives, along with my parents Charles O. Brown and Margaret M. Myers. We all live in Calif. now, but try to get back to Littlestown as much as possible. Michael Little: I've very much enjoyed your Web site. Especially the old photographs and the superb photographs by my old pal Ben Ricci. As a Littonian in exile, who can clearly recall the days when a bridge still spanned the railroad tracks by the foundry and no tract houses crowded the cemetery, I can say that your site is a sure spirit-raiser. And I'm not alone--all the guys in my cell block like it. Keep up the good work, Long Live West King Street, Mike

Wanda Boyer: My Great Grandmother, Abigail Keller, grew up in Littlestown, I am reading her diaries from 1882 & 1883 when she seemed to be courting Harry W. Mehring. This web site is helping me to visualize the town she lived in.
