Peter Wakamatsu: Great photos of your Russia. I really appreciate them since I'm thinking of buying one. Question, how strong is the seatbelt mounts? I assume that in the photo of the seat pan the seatbelt mounting backing plate is that square piece attached to the inside of the pan. Do you remember the size of the backing plate? How does the seatbelt actually attach to the mount? On the German fiberglass ships that I've seen (Grobs etc), the seatbelt mounts were anything but substantial--I think they would've been useless in a real crash. Also, how substantial is the fiberglass tub in the cockpit area in terms of crashworthiness? Thanks very much....

Steve Siedhoff: Jim, I am interested in building a Russia kit. Can you give me an approximate estimate on how much money it costs over and above the kit price to finish the Russia to flying condition? I would like to know of any problems/pitfalls you encountered during the build process, and what you r honest opinion is of this kit. Please also in addition to the above e-mail address send an answer to: Stephen.M.Siedhoff@boeing.com Thanks Jim

James Puetz: So, Flash Gordon, when's the maiden voyage??? Can all 6'5" of you fit in there??? What's the total flying weight going to be, with water, provisions, and you, of course? Will that put you at one end of the curve? Looking forward to some photos from aloft.

Bill Jackson: Great collection of Russia pics. The one in the general section labelled #4 is #016 at its base in North Plains, Oregon. It is owned by a group of members of the Willamette Valley Soaring Club. #007 (my bird) also lives there, and now we have another Russia coming here from Texas (I think it is #013). Oregon may now be the West Coast Ruskie Central!

Pete Eberhart: Thank you Jim for making this wonderful information available for us. You have done a fantastic job of personalizing and logging the construction of Kit #.002. You must be very proud of your ship and we will love to hear of your first flights. Your innovations and skills are always an inspiration to a potential kit builder such as myself. Best Wishes, Pete Eberhart Finger Lakes Soaring Club

LSwedish: Thanks for the great collection...I'll have to add some more of my own. The Pic labled "chads Machine" is actually "Lance's Machine" in Utah, on the day that it was delivered to Heber... and she is as much fun as she looks!!

Carl 042: Nice album, and what a panel! What's your empty weight? 042 is 323#'s with BRS installed. If your trailer is as tongue heavy as mine, you might want to move the spare aft. Good lift, C42
