Jean Wilson: Checking in to see Botanic Garden photos. A treat! Jean 4-13-2010 April 13, 2010 1:53PM Jean Wilson: Norland and his first wife, Betty, bought a lot in Sedona facing Wilson Mountain (yes!) They were going to build a house there, but illness struck and they sold the lot. A few years ago Norland and I visited Sedona and your photos bring back memories. I have some very similar ones. Also enjoyed the photos of Starved Rock. Not all of Illlinois is flat. It's too bad you visited during a major drought as the waterfalls are quite pretty. I've done a lot of traveling in Michigan and spent my honeymoon in Harbor Springs, many, many years ago. I, too, love the daylight in the summer months until 10pm. August 2, 2004 8:20PM Heather: Hello Bob, Your perennial garden is really terrific. I particularly like the patio area with the black-eyes susans. They are one of my favorites as a tried and true flower. I have several species of plants that you do, including monarda and echinacea. You have a lovely spread there in Chicagoland. I have been out to that area several times and each time I enjoyed it so much! You can't beat the Reuben sandwiches or the crusty hard rolls there! The FLW Arts and Crafts home was particularly interesting, and I think I shall make a trip out there sooner than later. I'd like to see more of the Mission style architecture and furniture. Thank you for a lovely photographic tour of places all over the world and in C-town. I appreciate the glimpse into your residence and fabulous garden.
