Earl R Batten: Today I purchased a 1977 32' Trojan which I hope to enjoy now that I am retired. This is new to me but I think I will enjoy working on it and using it to look around the northern parts of the Cheasapeake Bay.

Don Hall: Hi Matt, Great looking Trojan, you should be very proud. I am working on a '77 F30 and love it. Thanks for sharring all your pictures. Much happiness to you and your family and God Bless. Don Hall

Ray Bourquin - Grannyknot: Hi Don: Haven't said hello for awhile. I see you haven't updated your picture trail site since last year. Do you still own your Trojan?? Our Grannyknot is still going strong and there are still enough small jobs to do on her to keep me out of the old age home. Would be happy to hear from you anytime.

Jay Wannamaker: Have enjoyed your site since you started. My son and I did same thing in 2000 with Pentathol finish. Now 5 summers later of hot, dry Lake Powell Weather the decks look like over- cooked potato chips have been thrown over the deck. 1. Are you still happy with the Honey Teak? 2. Did you finish over grout? 3. As easy to touch up as Tom says it is? 4. Using 14x11 prop but can't plain. Am told 14x10 would. What are you using? Have same Mercrusier with 1200 Hrs.and good compression. Thanks , Jay

Stuart Steele: WOW, I just bought my first Trojan today and I thought I would google F26 and see what poped up! Mine is a 1975 26' and is in pretty good condition and does not have near the amount of teak that yours does. (which is ok for me I am a carpenter I see wood enough LOL) I was so impressed with your project that I showed my wife and she got some really great ideas about the interior from your boat. I have my captains licence and I am going to run a few 6 pack charters off of it a year but mainly for the family! Thank you for showing your progression and what a great Job. Donny (album owner): Hi Todd, Any suggestions? That's a tough one. Without seeing your boat, it's hard for me to do that. I'd suggest a good survey to see where to start, or just take a step back and try to see what you'll want to do with the boat, and plan your upgrades that way. A better toilet system than the Monomatic would be a good start. (If that's what you have). My engine purrs like a kitten, sips gas, and is tight as a drum, so no, we won't be upgrading until we have to, but I have thought of a little more horsepower if we do, but not too much more. This is, after all, a cruiser. Thanks!

Todd Johnson: Hi, I bought a 1975 Trojan Sea Raider that has been refurbished and is in excelent condition. I am planning on making a few upgrades. If you have any suggestions let me know. I have teak oiled the deck and I love the look. But I also like the look of yours, does your finish make it slippery at all. Also, have you thought about upgrading the engine to maybe 350 - 400 hp? Anyway my boat looks a lot like yours and is so fun. Feel free to email me. Thanks, Todd

Donny (Album owner): Mark, you can get these symbols already made at www.trojanboats.net! Cheers.

Mark Sprinkle: could you send me a close-up of the trojan emblem on the side of your boat. I have had the emblems remade in Lexan and want to match the colors. I'll probably use silver leaf or silver vinyl to make the letters. then black enamel . Note this is all applied from the back. I would be so appreciative for you help. Mine has a bimini top fiber glass which I have cut out the core and glassed in a new cove replacing the slab + striped out the cockpit, reproduced the floor frame and redecked w/ teak marine plywood all counter sunk and pegged. w/ raw rubber beading beweetn the planks. whew... MarK Sprinkle already has new engine. water tanks, fuel tanks and interior

Dr. Al Coke: Fantastic job on your boat. I'm finishing up an F-36 Tri-Cabin. I don't have the teak decks you have but a lot on the inside. I'm very impressede with the quality of your work. Putting it under a cover makes the difference. Mine is in a slip so we are exposed to the weather. Congratulations again on an outstanding piece of work. Safe boating.

Rick Gabbert: Nice work. It put a lump in our throat. I'm restoring a 1974 F30 flybridge xpress. Know how it feels to get here in the water after all your hard work. Good job!

Donny (Album owner): Hi Ian, I sent you an email. You can give my email to him. Sorry about the problems, but all my password protections are off. Maybe it's his security settings? I wrote Picturetrail about it, we'll see what they say. Laters.

Ian Parsons: Hi Don, I have a friend, not on Trojan Boat owners who is very interested at viewing the finished product with Honey Teak. I gave him your website but he could not access without a password. Is it possible for him to do so, not being part of the TBO group?

Donny (Album owner): Thanks, Matt! It wasn't this beautiful when we found it. There aren't any real closeups of the boat when we got it, and the pics in these albums are resized to fit the space, but when we got up close, it was a mess. But all of us could see through that to the jewel underneath. My advice, have the bottom surveyed, paying attention to all through hulls, even around the prop and rudder, and launch her. You can work on her at the dock, and still use her for a days fishing, tubing, whatever. Make an album like mine, it's fun! Donny

Matt: What a beautiful craft you have! And a very lucky find if I may say so... I have a 1973 Sea Raider 25' which I obtained in June over the summer for the same price you paid for yours. Yours is in much better condition and much more original looking. She was in the water when I bought her and I didn't see her bottom till October. I haven't decided yet whether I will launch her this summer or if I will work to make her as beautiful as yours. I would submit a pic but I don't know how. Thanks for the inspiration!

Ian Parsons: Hi Donny, My e mail is: parsonsposse@shaw.ca I will also try to access the Honey Teak Website you mentioned. One concern I have is that I have oiled the teak floor several times. What do I have to do to make the surface compatible with the Honey Teak finish? Have a Happy Holiday by the way. Bet you can hardly wait for spring.

Donny (Album owner): Hi Ian. I'd like to get in touch with you, see if I can help you out a bit. Your email doesn't seem to be coming through, so drop me a line at the email address in this album, OK? Donny. (And thanks to all who have signed this book, I have passed your praise on to my sons!)

Ian Parsons: Hello Again Mr. Bennett. I checked your pix again and got all the info on the Honey Teak. I am going to attempt to find a dealer up here in Canada and go to work on my 26 Express Cruiser. If it will look half as good as yours, I will be happy. Ian Parsons: Hi Skipper, Enjoyed your tale and website. Smashing looking boat. What did you use for finish on teak? Did it work ok over the oil? Did you find the floor slippery? Have a '74 F26 with very similar cosmetics. Ian Parsons MV Catherine Pearl Van Isle BC Canada

Patrick: Enjoyed your pictures. Looks like your boat cleaned up nicely. I've been working on a 1980 Searay 26 for two years. Same general design, but with I/O. Ya gotta luv it.
January 30, 2004 2:03PM

Ron and Gina: Thank you for sharing your photos. We, too, have rescued an old trojan. We believe it's a 25' 1970. But other than that we don't have much information, except that the engine has been totally rebuilt. If you can help us locate a picture of a 1970 we'd appreciate it. Yours looks similar but not quite the same. Thank you and take care. Happy boating.

The Brais Family: Hey Donnie Checked out all the photo's again from your last e-mail and looks great. Liz said you sent a "tubing" photo or two but we never received it. For about a two week period, I had a problem with Outlook and a "potential worm". I have McAfee Virus Scan (and all updates) but it found nothing. Kept scanning over and over. Seems to have gone away. Couldn't send anything and when I did, it would send it 3-5 times..... Only in the outbox it would show. Plus it was spottiy in receiving mail. I sent some from work as a test and several didn't arrive. Last several days it was fine. Deleted all my old e-mails and folders prior to that. Remember...we are on for next summer in Vermont camping/boating... Tony, Liz, Anthony, Chris, & Sean

Wendy/Butch: Your Web Site is great we have just got the same boat as yours which needs alot of elbow grease to say the least!! We think that it will be alot of fun refurbishising her! I have some questions on what you used to restore the teak on your boat I have heard many different things from people and not sure what to use? Did you varathane the inside wood or use teak oil? One more question is was there ever glass side windows beside the windsheild cause ours doesn't have any and we were wondering if it should have had them, I noticed that you had plastic snap on windows? We really enjoyed the pics of your boat hopefully ours will look as good when finished!!

John VanGrunsven: Thank-you sixbennetts for the large number of photos of your trojan. My wife and I have a 1971 Sea Raider 25' and it is very similar to your boat. I enjoyed noticing the differences between our two boats. We keep our boat on the St. Lawrence River and are enjoying our third season with it. Take Care John VanGrunsven
