barbara: I just found your albums and find them fascinating. It is a beautiful house. I love the ghost stories. I do believe they are spirits without a final resting place. Your home is beautiful and decorated with such class. Love it and will return. I live in Hagerstown, MD.

highlands: I just read the entry that someone just posted, stating they "sure miss my ghost stories". Thanks to all of you who enjoy my stories. I promise, one of my resolutions for 2008 will be to update this site. The first two years we lived in this home, we experienced enough experiences to make even a skeptic second guess. Although the "unexplained experiences" have been few and far between since, they do still happen; as a result, from time to time, something happens that seems to remind us we "aren't alone". I know it's been a long time coming, but I promise I will add unshared stories in the months to come. In 2005 I (very unexpectantly) became pregnant with my 5th child. It was a difficult pregnancy with an even more difficult recovery. The year following his birth was filled with one health issue after another for myself, but I think I'm finally on the road to recovery. Believe it or not, I have experiences to share with you from 2005 up until the present, including today when....well, I'll save that for the site. Stay tuned. I am a woman who keeps her promises and they will be coming soon. Until then, best wishes to all.

wsthm: I sure do miss your ghost story updates...
October 31, 2007 11:15PM

Tom: A wonderful photo album. You have put a lot of work into it and it shows. The strang occurances are obviously real. I think I might actually try to communicate with the spirits. Who knows? Please keep posting pictures!

*Carissa*: Hey! Oh My Goodness! Your stories are amazing! They are SO entertaining! I do believe in ghosts and this is why! When I was staying at my grandma's house in North Carolina, I slept in the master bedroom..Now you have to think this is a very old farm house..It was built in 1887..Well, just when I dozed off in a great sleep, I heard poundings on the wall..I awoke to a dark figure lurking behind my rocking chair with a hammer..I payed no mind to it, but when I awoke the next morning there were hammer marks on the wall beside my head and I had a gash on the side of my face..It was then that I relized I had seen a ghost and it was then that I relized my grandparent's house was haunted! This was indeed the scariest experience in my life..Well, I have to be on my way now! Best wishes to your family and you! Bye-Bye!

Alisa: I have been checking your beautiful photos for years. I had lost the link and hadn't been by for quite a while. Deborah: I have absolutely loved looking at your photos and have shared your pages with many friends. You also inspired me to get a Winsor Pilates tape. I am currently working with the Power Scultping with Resistance DVD and love working with the resistance band. Is there another Winsor DVD that you could recommend for a beginner? I have one other that I thought was too intense and too fast for me at this point. Thanks for any help! Deborah
August 15, 2005 9:39AM

Kathy: Love the pictures and all the interesting stories. Keep up the good work.
August 14, 2005 11:21AM

Valentina: hello, my name is valentina. I am 16 years old. Yesterday i had happened to cross upon your albums. I have to say it spooked me a bit, but in the same time it was very intreiging. Your home reminded me of this old victoria home i used to live in. I didn't exactly know the history to it, but i had heard a few stories. Just as your home, ours had a small hidden room underneith the stairs and the only way to see it was by moving the carpet that hung on the wall. I found it odd. Everytime me and my mother or other relatives dug in the back yard we'd find some old item, even hair pins that women used to wear back in the 1900's. Even though i had not seen a ghost in my old home, i had it in my mind that maybe i would see one. But in the 2 years i had lived in it, not one ghost appeared, and to me that was alright..he he i would probubly have a heart attack. Well i wish you the best in this home :) goodbye. ^_^ p.s your pictures are amazing :)
August 2, 2005 12:11PM

Congratulations on your success with Pilates, you are an inspiration for all that battles with attaining a healthy lifestyle! God bless you and your family~
July 8, 2005 10:07PM

Sarita: Wow, that was so interesting. I must have spent and hour and a half reading and looking at your stuff. It is very facinating. You should contact Montel show and have Sylvia Browne tell you who your ghosts are.
June 27, 2005 2:01PM

Lindsay: Wow! There scary! =/ You have some great pics and stories tho.
June 23, 2005 3:16PM

Courtney: hello. i noticed in the first Isabel picture that there is a ghost-like figure of a little girl or something in the far right window of the top floor (not the attic windows on the roof)... the image is in the far right corner of the photo. just noticed it.
June 20, 2005 12:07PM

stephanie: i liked the huanted pictures.the mist one i think its a women looking for someone.and the one with the kid in the window that was scary but cool
June 14, 2005 12:17PM

Kathy: Hi, I think your stories are amazing and you have done an excellent job on your album. You have obviously put alot of time, energy and thought into it. Great job. I am interested in hearing what kind of diet you did along with the pilates. I am getting ready to start the pilates myself and was curious what kind of diet you did becuase you had awesome results with it. You look great. Hope to hear from you soon!
May 17, 2005 8:07AM

pm: I read the thing about your friend's dad sending her a herd of elephants she would walk right by. I thought it was kind of odd that I then saw an elephant on the wall of your kid's bedroom. It is not necessarily a usual decoration, even for a kid's room. Are there other elephants that have been painted over? Maybe that is the herd he was referring to? Just a thought. Hope she got her validation.
May 12, 2005 9:18PM

Katrina: Wow! What a cool picturetrail. I was just surfing the net when I came across your albums. The stories and pictures are facinating. Thanks for sharing them. By the way, what city in MD do you live in? I'm from St. Mary's Co. and had not heard of your place.
April 30, 2005 1:45PM

: They are spirits, not ghosts
April 12, 2005 7:11PM

Brooke: Hello! I can't believe all of the crazy expierences you have had! I have had a few but i mainly see the spirits in my house, this happens probably once a week. I have had them talk to me even. Have you read Sylvia Brown books? She is very detailed about everything going on and can explaine it quite well. If you would like to talk more about the spirits e-mail me @ i would love to talk about our expierences
April 12, 2005 7:09PM

April 12, 2005 1:33PM

March 26, 2005 4:02PM

Jessica: Wow very entertaning! You and your family are very brave for staying there. I know i could never do it! I was scared just looking at your pictures and reading the stories.
March 13, 2005 9:44AM

Jen: I have a picture for you to look at. I just noticed it today. If you would, please email me at and I will send you the picture! Thanks!
March 5, 2005 8:50PM

Angela: Loved you ghost stories/experience and even better with the haunting music. If you ever want to get rid of the ghost, I hear that if you make a big change to the house, they just leave but it's great that you're letting stay with you. I know I couldn't do it, I could barely stand the one that was in my room a couple years ago. Heres to hoping for more stories!
March 2, 2005 11:17PM

Christen Jones: Hi, I visit your wonderful picture trail almost daily! It's so interesting. My mom and I enjoy talking about the stories. Your home is filled with history and it's really sad that the old tobacco shed had to be burned. I've been through alot of the picture trails but I always come back to this one. By the way, I don't see the girl in the window in the fall picture of your house. Is there a curtain in the window on the left side? I try to zoom in and look very close at the picture but I don't see anything. Could you help me by pointing out what exactly you see? Thank You, Christen E. Jones
February 14, 2005 7:05PM

patmurphy: I think your house is just beautiful!!We have a house like that down the road-only the door is in the middle instead of on the side-its brick too...I wish i could buy it, but hubby says no way-not if its for the lovely pictures..patricia
January 22, 2005 11:56AM

broken_fairy2389: Wow, I must say that I have heard about appliences not working correctly and seeing things over your bed...even to the point of feeling things watching you...actually, I have felt or experienced them all, and I'm only 15. I don't think that my house is haunted, I just think that its family members that have passed on or something. My house however, is located near an old Cemetary, I'm not sure if that has something to do with it or not. Anyway, I was reading the description on the "self Portrait" and I was thinking, maybe the spirits in the house want you to write the experiences down. Maybe that is their only way to move on, you know what I'm saying? Well, its a great album, I hope to see more! P.S-I love Bear...what a cutie! ~Rachael~
January 7, 2005 8:11PM

December 16, 2004 1:11PM

Nicole: Wow! What can a person say? Well you house is beautiful and I know you hear that all the time but it is. You are really lucky.. I would love to own a beautiful house like that. When I seen the second picture of 'The Apparition' I couldn't quite make out what it was until I looked at the 'My Own Vision' and i could totally see it then! It's so crazy* 'The writing on the wall' is really bizarre....I want some crazy stuff to happen to me. People always say ghost sitings and ufo's are unexplained mysteries..Well what if they're not ment to be explained? Not everything in life has an explanation..I believe that anything can happen in this world, I mean look at us and how we got here! All in All your albums are great my site-NhHfMf

It looks to me like its a man...diagonal...and it looks like he's balled his hand up into a fist...and it looks like he's really muscular. also looks like a woman is underneath him...and like she's lifted her hand out to blow a kiss or something....

samme: satnam namaste'...a truly odd turn of events brought me to the mbr profiles where i honed in on your site like a homing pigeon...have never experienced anything like picture trail, before but, i have experienced more than a few unexplainable occurrences in several homes i have lived in during my lifetime (48yrs now). currently i live in an old farm house out west built in 1923-24...visitors to my home, especially those that do not believe in supernatural things...8-9 out of 10 times will ask me if i am aware of some sort of presence in my home...i just have to house also, picked me...i wish i knew how to research its history to the same degree you have researched the highlands...i must commended you on the fiercly committed dedication you have to family & ancestrey, with your grandfather's original artwork in the green room, your great aunties portrait hanging, your own original art work done at age6 hanging over your desk & the collection of your children's original art/craftwork on display touches me wonder your house picked you to keep it alive n well in the 21st century! a pleasure to visit your site! keep your ball rolling!!!!!!thank you for sharing...sat nam namaste' ps i am so sorry for the loss of the tobacco barn, i feel the same as you..hubby did a good job standing in with the camera...GOD bless you all!

September 24, 2004 5:58AM

xxdizzie08xx: in your daughters birthday party album, in the pictures where they are doin craft projects,it looks to me as if there is an adult and a child standing in the window, especially in the close up. It just looks like a whiteish gray outline and your can really see the eyes.

Larry Rose: I really enjoyed my visit to your Picturetrail web site. Old houses have always been a favorite of mine. Add a few ghosts and a spooky cemetery behind the house and you have a great setting for a book or movie.
August 18, 2004 1:33PM

Carrie: Your stories are very interesting. I wonder have you ever contacted the ghosts? Thru Ouji or thru a seance? I know I personally have had luck, with my "mysteries" by employing these methods.
August 10, 2004 2:11PM

Joey: Lauren- fasinating storytelling!! Great Pics!! You have inspired me to make my own phototrail album about my historical house built in new york. I have many pictures like yours and a few i think you'd want to see-you'd find them interesting.
August 10, 2004 2:08PM

Jason: Very intresting stories, i can relate to some of your expeiences, because my best friend lived in a old morgue(creepy). Also my great aunt used to live in a "haunted house" and she would talk with them. Personaly i think she just was a couple fries short of a happy meal but it still made for some interesting stories. Keep up the good work!!
August 4, 2004 9:34AM

shirl: I grew up in a house like yours in Laurel Md. I had a lot of weird and scarry things happen to me, but all in all I loved it. I hope you do too. ps. Great job on the albums!!!

jade: your album is so interesting!!!
April 12, 2004 10:46PM

Chris Hundley: Hey, took a copy of your picture and blew it up in photoshop. all the way to 1000 Resolution... Its pretty hard to see anything... but at a certain point there is definitely a disturbing outline of a child... The thing that kept throwing me off though was the style of windows you have... i hadnt noticed that from the other windows they actually have a complete criss crossing of bars or panes.. and one of the panes being in the foregound was cutting off the full outline of what apears to be a childs head... I will save these files in High Res.. if you would like a copy, let me know... They are very large files... upwards of 100 MB for the full picture and one that is 1.4 MB of just the window and some surrounding brick... At this high of resoulution u can also zoom out and get a clear picture as u zoom out... ohhh of course these are PSD files... i dont know if i can preserve the quality if its saved as jpg or gif... png, tif, or for that matter .bmp would probbably be the best candidates to preserve quality.. Liz: Hi. I really enjoyed your website and I also have a few "gifts" that allow me to experience things. I had one question for you about the things that happen on and around your property. Do you ever see or experience anything that may have to do with the slaves kept on the property? Did anything ever happen before the slave quarters were demolished? I just thought that it would make an interesting observation.

Lorrie: Lauren this site is so cool,thanks...I neglected to tell you that my facination with this is far more than you can imagine. I have dreams alot, and the next day things that were in my dreams appear the next day in real life. As I was looking at the stairs, I realize that I have seen this stairway in my dreams..too weird!!! The orbs wow!!!I'll have to get the pictures of my moms mirrors..I do believe, we even took them at different angles and times. The mirrors came from my grandmothers house..This is cool, keep updating, the barn picture is very natural and professional...thanks again Lorrie, PS while on your site the music was very crackled, not sure why. She you later at the office...

Susan: Just experienced your album on the burning of the old tobacco barn and, while I'm not normally emotionally so delicate, I was moved to tears. I'm still feeling as though I've just lost my best friend. Your choice in music for this portion was perfect. What a moving experience.

Agnes: continued: the Tobacco Barn pictures are great too. For some reason, THE SMOLDERING photo really caught my attention. I really like those colors on it... with the smoke and the fire, and the brightness of the green make up a lively combination.
October 4, 2003 11:24PM

Agnes: Hi Lauren, I have now seen the pic of the sky during the tornado watch. It looks scary! I have seen those types of clouds in Texas a few times during a Tornado warning. But I was so scared then that I did not dare to look outside even. I was hoping so badly that one wouldnt hit us. And none did. I also saw the enhanced photos of your name and Miranda's name. I think they show very well with this black and white solution!
October 4, 2003 11:22PM

Lauren (creator of the Highland's albums): Carolyn, I saw your entry & question about October 2nd and if you look in the Album "THE FEVER", there is an update. It appears we did have something happen that night. If you click on that last picture in that album, I tell the story that happened this year on the anniversary of Elizabeth's death. Thanks for visiting!
October 4, 2003 8:20AM

Carolyn Quigely: WOW, your albums were very interesting to look at. I so enjoyed reading all the information you have recovered on "The Highlands". Obviously, you must have ghosts that love your family because they haven't seemed to harm you. They probably just wanted a family that would love and take care of the place. Your site is awesome and since today is the 3rd of October, I was wondering if anything happeded yesterday in your daughter's room?
October 3, 2003 9:06AM

Agnes: Hi! I havent heard from you for a while and I hope everything is going well. I saw the new album titles and I am very excited about the new additions. I also hope Hurricaine Isabel didnt harm anyone from your family or anything on your land! All the best.
October 2, 2003 7:54AM

Agnes: Hi again! I just viewed your album in which you tell about that night when you took 2 pics of your house in the dark and there is something showing on one of them. That exactly looks like what you drew... By the way, ghosts know who can see them and they can make themselves visible to those people. They know who those are who are ready for the *experience*. I know I am not... but I cant see any either. On the other hand I am sure there are some around me. I just havent experienced them.
September 4, 2003 11:06AM

Agnes / magicapix (album name): Thank you for sharing yourwonderful photos of your home. I have to admit that I love ghost stories, and I thoroughly enjoyed looking for those ORBS in the bedrooms (which I first thought were reflections of mirrors...).... or maybe I'm wrong? If you have any more interesting stories, I'd certainly like to read about them! Were you not scared when you found yourself locked in the basement??? I would have been.... even if I had no previous signs of ghosts ever visiting me!
August 24, 2003 12:16AM

Maria Martinez: All that i can say is WoW. Everything the house, the stories are just so wonderfull. I just love old houses especially if the have a story behind them. My house is kinda like that. You see i live in chicago and my house(well not my house but my parents house) and all the neighborhood was built over a cementary. And almost everybody from the neighborhood has experiance sometype of ghost apperance. LIke in my house in the basement theres this room where my cousin's friend is staying and he says that there is a young woman who is there that he has seen her and that she once tried to take his blanked off while he was sleeping, he says that he feels her breath. Weird right???? Well maybe ill make my own picturetrails album someday soon. well i just love ur house. Hope to see more new pics of ur ghosts.Laterz Maria M.

Amber: WOW! I am in my summer school class rite now and looking at this book of photos is amazing! I can't believe you have been through all this and you still live there! But i would love to live in that house, it is very beautiful and I love scary things and old houses with a history. Luella: Hi, I really love the photos of your home. I live in Parkville, MD (on the northeastern side of the Baltimore beltway), so I'm from the same state. My friend, who lives in Crofton, likes to photograph old homes, and maybe would be interested in yours...any history to your home that you know of? Are you in the Annapolis area?I'm going to email my friend your picturetrail album page, and let her know about your home. If you are interested in letting her photograph your home, please let me know. Thanks for sharing your photos. Luella in Parkville :-)

jUST WANTED 2 SAY HELLO: I seen all your albums and my Mother and I said the same thing that 4 some reasons your drive way view reminded us of the movie The OTHERS. My Mother said ghost cannot kill u but may scare you 2 death. I think you have a really beautiful home and if I where you by any chance feel a bad vibe move! Oh Yeah, in the album of the Birthday Party there is a orb just underneath on the left side before the picture is cut off but it is not at the bottom. I truly believe in Ghost, I will say I do because I seen A Lot of weird things in my life but only talked about some of them. From: JanMarie- San Bernardino,California

Chrystal: I have been entranced by your photo album for the past hour. I've not looked at it all yet, but I'm bookmaring your site. I LOVE old houses and buildings and antiques. My grandfather was an antique dealer. My mother is the one who instilled in me an interest in "ghostly" things and I'm in awe of everything you've learned about your home. Do you have any idea who your ghosts are? Thank you so much for sharing your home, family, and spirits with everyone. You seem like such a warm and friendly person. I feel very fortunate to have found your site. Thank you again, Chrystal McCoy St. Charles, MO

Cathy McD: Hi Lauren, I just started my own picturetrail album today, and I was looking around on this site, when I ran across your picturetrail. Wow, this was great. So interesting. I had to stop and sign your guestbook right away. I told a friend of mine to check out your picturetrail and she "oops" I think thought she was signing my guestbook....LOL....she's the one that wrote to me on your guestbook......oh well, anyway, just had to say how neat it was seeing all your photos of ghosts. I have a friend who is experiencing much of the same at her home.....very interesting, keep the photos and stories coming! Cathy McD

Diane & Rick Burris: WOW! (That about says it all.) The history and stories were wonderful and very interesting. How fortunate the property is to have found such an interested, sloothing new owner! I can imagine it took many hours and much work to research all that history. Very informative!! Thank you so much for welcoming my snooping about! Your home is splendid- like you!
April 9, 2003 9:06AM

Brooks: Hi Lauren, I have been wanting to write to you since your visit. Were you in Seattle longer than planned? I wish you would have called, we could have got the boys together at our house to play some more. My sister, Marlin, beat me at writing you! Your site is wonderful. I love all the stories. I never use the internet except for email, but I have learned how to put it under "my favorites" my first and only time. I check it from time to time when I have a second to see if there are any updates. It is especially fun to see and read about the house because I know you, so I know that it is all real. I am curious about a couple things, but will write more later when I get a chance. I have to go pick Sam up from school now. We enjoyed seeing you all. Joey is a doll! It was so nice of you to come and see "G.G" Grandma. I know she really enjoys seeing the family. Take care, Brooks

February 25, 2003 8:08PM

Samantha (Marlin)Gage: Dear Lauren, Hi! I am Brooks Moores' sister in N.Carolina. I just got off the phone with Brooks after she told meof your wonderful ghosts accounts. I love it! I immediately came to your website. The pictures and stories are amazing but even more than that the most intriguing part for me was when you mentioned how you knew it was your home when you walked in and had tears in your eyes because you just knew. I have always, always told my husband that I have not found my home yet but that I would know it when I walked in and tears come to my eyes! Isn't that just wild? The crazy thing is that we have 5 acres of land in our little town that we could build on but have put it off for 8 years. Every time we go to the property I stand at the top of the hill and tears come to my eyes. What does this say? I'm sorry this is long but we have also bought a house in town that was built in 1906. We have so far gutted it to studs and outside walls. We're waiting till spring to start putting it back together. So far I have not had any sensitivity to spirtual activity even though I've walked through it by myself. We'll see! I would love to come visit your palce sometime if it would ever be convenient for you. We would only visit for the afternoon! How's that for inviting oneself? By the way, please tell Art that his cousin, Michael, is just my favorite. I absolutely adore him and his mother Ramona who I would love to capture as my mother! Look forward to hearing from you - Marlin (Sam)

Corrina & Colby: This is a wonderfull site it had me scared the whole way through. How can you live in that house? Its very beautifull but your not scared or any thing? OOOooooooooooo
February 6, 2003 7:53AM

Blanca Burgess: Hello ....I have never.....but never signed a guest book!! I just felt so compelled to do so after looking at and reading everything in your album. I can't begin to tell you how beautiful your home is...the history is absolutely wonderful also. I felt kinda warm & fuzzy as i sat here for over an hour, just looking at everything. Imagine my dread as i came to the last album....WAAAHHHH!!! OH NOOOOO!!! I'm not so much interested in the ghostly sightings in the breathtakingly beautiful scenery. Even though I myself have seen a ghost when i was younger (I'm an old lady of 53 now !)and am positive they exist...I don't really talk about it much because i think most people think you're some kinda looney when you do. But in my soul of souls....I believe people that see them...are somehow given a gift of insight.Anyway I know what i know....and i know i will be back periodically to see if you've added anything. Best wishes to you & all of your beautiful family ! Blanca (from San Antonio,Texas)

rina: Happen to come across your album while looking to start my own album. I just wanted to say I love your site, it has everything that interests me- old houses and their history, dollhouses and of course ghosts! I just have a fascination with older homes and their history, something you don't get from a new house. I do believe the house choose you's. Your house is lovely and you did a great job on your album! LOVE IT!!!!
January 23, 2003 8:28PM

Madison: ok before i go into what happens at my house i would just like to point out that in the first picture you took in the window that if i remeber right is by the door there is a bunch of lights not just one and one is bigger then all the rest and in the picture where there seems to be a woman the lights are gone... ok now let me tell you what goes on in my house... sometimes late at night it sounds like people walking all around and some large items have went missing from my home not small things you could have missplaced and our cell phones dail people when were not useing them and one while it was dead and shut off and our home phones called 2 of our cell phones one the same day both at 3:30 in the morning when everyone in my house was sleeping and no one heard the rings but later seen the missed calls another thing that is realy weird is that when i sit down a drink and walk away sometimes it ends up in the fridge and i know i hadnt put it there i will search the house looking for it and then look in the fridge and there it is. i use to live in apartments and strange stuff happened there one night i was in bed and i took bad chest pains that went through to my back and while this was happening there was colored lights going everywhere all over my one wall i dont know what it is but ive learned to live with it i think i have someone watching over me or atleast thats what im hoping
January 23, 2003 7:00PM

Abby: strange things happen to me to well just the other night i was in my room on the phone and someone knocked on my door so i went to answer it(keep in mind it was very late and my family was sleeping) and there was no one there and everyone was still sleeping ........ a few nights later it was late again and everyone was asleep and my door handel was twitching like someone was trying to get in and i opened it and again no one
January 23, 2003 6:53PM

Rick Mullen: Pretty awesome stuff! Thought you ought to know. Our house is only 13 years old and we have unexplained occurances all the time. It is generally when something gets broken or spilled and we ask the kids "what happened?"- We never get an explanation.
January 23, 2003 7:44AM

Jackie Gallodoro: Your site is great I believe everything that happened at your house was really ghost, my mother in law is really into ghost as she herself has had several sightings. I heard about your web site from your father Bill Butler, I work with your dad at the Sheet Metal Workers Int'l, I also live in Calvert County (Lusby, Md). I am going to pass your web address onto my mother in law. Have you looked into having someone help fix up the graveyard?. I think your Elizabeth and her family would appreciate it. Keep the Faith.
January 23, 2003 7:09AM

Jane Johnson: It's snowing outside, so I stayed in for the lunch hour instead of risking life and limb with motorists who panic at the first sign of the fluffy white stuff. It has been intriguing and delightful to read and view your albums. You have a gift for emotional expression and with topics such as this it is easy to start sounding hokey fast! Never once did I feel any kind of goal of sensationalism in your writing. I had just finished uploading Christmas pictures to the Picture Trail website and for whatever reason, decided to click on your site. Probably the name "Highland" caught my eye as I'm very drawn to Celtic mythology and anything that sniffs of Ireland or Scotland. The thing that kept me looking at all the albums were the bedroom images and the orbs of light. Several of my pictures have turned out with these identical shapes of light. I thought it was because it was a low light situation or because I used the red-eye function on my digital camera. But, it didn't do it in all of them so I was curious as to what was going on. Several years ago, I visited a psychic and she asked me how many children I had. I told her two. "Two?" she said. "Did you have any miscarriages?" No, I did not. She said she saw a spirit hovering around me that I at one time had been very close to. For some reason, that thought warmed me. Often times when I'm in the hypnogogic state of dreaming (half conscious/unconconsious), I have seen people in my bedroom. They never speak to me and usually seeing them frightens me into awakening. There's so much we don't know about our own spirits and probably even more about the energies that have chosen to remain on the earth plane. Thanks for sharing your images and your story. I enjoyed both :-) Jane Johnson

January 19, 2003 7:27PM

Julia: whoops...sorry about that empty post. I just wanted to tell you that I have been fascinated with ghost stories ever since I was a little girl. I have lived in Oklahoma City my whole life, though, and there aren't many buildings in Oklahoma that are old enough to have a family history like yours. I just stumbled across your site while I was looking for places to post my family pictures. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I found them totally fascinating.

dais: hi happy new year!! you have a beutefull house VERRY BIG:) but i dont understand why you would stay there for so long after expiriencing all these things, honestly if it were me i would have moved out a long time ago. anyway i read all your stories and saw all your pictures and i do belive i see orbs and an image of a gost in some of your pictures i am a person who belives in gosts because in several occations i have had verry misterious things happen to me iv heard wierd sounds i have smelled that unexplainable smells and i have felt that cold shiver going down my spine,i also have witnessed how a dog seams to go crazy like it just whants to run away or even drag its self on the floor and hear it bark and cry in a desperatly wayall this happend right after my father in law passed away he lived in mexico in a small ranch up on a lonely hill there are about 3 houses on that hill including his, my mother in law has mentioned a couple of things to me you know things like that smeel of sweat of when he would get home from feeding the animals wich they or she does not have anymore, she also mentiond some thing about the raidio going on and when it it was playing his favorite song wich he used to sing to my husband and his other children when they were verry young. on sep 4 1998 when he passed away we all whent to mexico to his funeral i saw how my husband and all his brothers and sisters crying like i had never seen them crying before but of cours i coulent expect any less, anyway when the were lowering my father in law down we all the people who were ther heard this unbelivable sound like the strike of a thunder storm latter that day id say about 4 hours after he was burred it was rainig so hard after it had been a verry sunny and hot day, anyway just to make it alittel shorter each year on his anneversary of when he died there is always a thunder storm on that day for sure and on the next day it is always a burrning hot day, i mean i dont mean to exagerate but to me there is no way there could be some kind of weather like this because it only happends on that day, thank you for reading this its a shame i dont have any pictures so i can show you wat it looks like.

Melinda from Virginia: Your album is great but very scary...I am one who is afraid of the dark anyways (yes still at 38 years old) and now it is time to go to bed and I am really feeling strange about reading all your albums and messages. There is no way that I could stay there with my children and husband. I have just told me husband about your album and he knows all to well what is happening to you and your family since he has had experience with "Ghost" also, but not in our home one of our rental homes. Keep up the good work and I also have a album called Melindasgifts if you have time to check it out. Great Work, and really scary.

Nikki: Such an interesting site and wonderful photos. I can see the orbs and the face in the fog of the 1st night photo of the house. I love old houses and their histories. BTW I found you by reading the photography board at PP.

Lois: I, too, stumbled across your site while miniaturing on the 'puter. Your home is simply elegant and so beautiful. The stories have given me chills and I feel for your poor, wise dog. I am too much a coward, and could not continue to live there. I wonder, are these "spirits" the reason for so many sales of the estate? Sincerely, Lois in Lincoln, NE

Tina Dean: I would like to say first that you have a beautiful home!!!!! I was amazed at the pictures that were taken and the orbes that you have captured on film, I would say that you have someone living with you that is not of this world. I can only say this with experience since I myself have a ghost living with me, and I do have pics to go with that. Also I am a member of the Wlghostchatters, we are very fond of the library in Evansville, IN. We had a successful outcome at our last meeting this past October in which several test were conducted on the library with some interesting results. I do believe that there "other" that walk amoug us. If there is anything that I can do or if you would like to talk about you new findings please feel free to e-mail at the address above. Thank-you for allowing me to be able to view these pictures of your home. And by the way in the first photo of the orbes, I have counted at least 7. Tina Dean

Greg (New Brunswick Canada): WOW. What a wonderful site. I read every word that you wrote! And I see the "ghost" that you talked about when you were trying to take pictures of the house with the candles on. I live in an old house now although it is not nearly as old as yours. I have a chair that seems to have something attached to it. When I lived in an old house in the capitol of New Brunswick, we used to experience those weird smells all the time too. And the clocks... whatever spirit came into the house when we bought the chair, LOVES to mess with the clocks, coffee maker, whatever time piece it can find. Thank you so much for your pictures and your stories. Greg (

Chinadoll2: You have a beatuiful home!!!! One have captured more ghosts in your pictures than you realize. All of your daighter's room show orbs and strange shapes in them. Take another good look at all of your pictures and you will see. It seems from the stories that you have told, that your spirits are pleasant. It seems as if they have welcomed you and your family into their home. That is a wonderful thing! Hope to read more about your home but until then, thank your for sharing! Chinadoll

Melissa: WOW! What a wonderful site! You've done a fabulous job! Your home is not only beautiful, but so interresting. Your recounting of events tells wonderful tales, and you stay so incredibly level headed about it! I'm not sure what I would do if I encountered such events in my home. I guess as long as they are friendly encounters - would be pretty interresting! Remarkable that the original 'Highlands' of Ireland are also known to have 'visitors' too... Again, great job on the site and good luck with your 'house guests'.

Kate Henry: I found your webpage while attempting to find another miniaturists album. I build dollhouses and other miniatures. Even though it didn't seem to be dollhouse related I was drawn into your after the other. I was pleasantly surprised to eventually come across your childhood dollhouse and it's closeup photos of the rooms. At this website you can see some of my miniatures. At this website you can see another house being built and pictures of some of my furkids. I would enjoy seeing more pictures of your dollhouse and reading any information you have about the company who made it, or was it hand crafted etc. Back to your website...your house is incredible, as is your property and ghosts. I enjoyed every minute of the last hour visiting each of your albums Thanks for sharing. Kate Henry

Andrea Esselman: Holy Cow! I dont think ill be able to sleep tonight after the pics and stories! i believe very strongly in ghosts and spirits and stuff. i am fascinated by the supernatural and old houses like yours and the history are awesome. i also live in an old house with an interesting past, my house is about 150 years old, first it was a cheese factory, then a brothel, and after that it was a place where they kept prisoners of war who did work in the fields behind our house, after all that it was sold and they turned it into a house. I want to find out more about my house and we are finding little stuff out all the time, like for example one of my great uncles or some relation like that used to live here, very wierd coincidence. thank for sharing your pics and stories!! ~Andrea Esselman Wisconsin

Lori Gilbert: I think you have a child ghost looking out the middle window on the 2nd floor of "Highlands in the Fall" picture~ You seem to be very in-tuned with your spirit friends, maybe that's why they picked you to live in "their" house! I'm curious how you found the house, or did it find you? A wonderful album! Thank You! Lori Gilbert Hibbing, MN
