thestampmanatcswaps: Hi all, all the swaps have been sent out now, they are all up to date. If any of you have time to scan the ATCs you receive and can email them to me at enquiries@thestampman.co.uk, I will try to add them to the relevant galleries. If possible please could you put the persons name that made the ATC, your name and the swap theme it refers to. Hopefully we will be able to resume the swaps at some time in the future. Thank you to everyone who has ever entered ATCs into our swaps, your work was truly amazing, and you should be very proud of the work you all produced. I will leave the gallery here so that you can visit from time to time for inspiration, there is certainly plenty here for you! Once again apologies for all the delays during the swaps, I know they were well worth waiting for though. Kind regards, Jill (and I'm sure Lisa feels the same!)

Jill Tuck: Hi everyone, My sincere apologies for the delay with the swaps, which is my fault and not Lisa's. Unfortunately I have been very busy and just haven't been able to get them done. On top of moving from our shop into a new one (which was a horrendous move as you can imagine if you have ever visited our shop and seen all the stuff we have), we are also very short staffed at the moment due to the holidays, and also recently had a new show on Create and Craft that has been a busy one for us. In the past I have scanned every ATC and loaded them onto our gallery so that everyone could see all the other swaps. My photocopier/scanner is broken so this has also led to a delay. I normally scan them and pass them onto Lisa but I have now decided that, as I'm not likely to have much time, I will work my way through and just swap the ATCs in order not to delay them any longer and forget about the scanning which takes such a long time. I have been quite anxious myself at the delay with them and can assure you that I not happy myself that I haven't been able to get them done. They are on my mind daily. As I say, I will try and get some out everyday now and ask if anyone wishes to scan the ATCs they receive and email the images to me I will try and get them on the website so there are some to see. Once again, my sincere apologies for the delay. Jill

alison mitchell: I love the ATCs we share with each other, and I always enjoy reading people's comments about my work. Thank you for all the effort that you put into sorting them out, Lisa, it is very much appreciated

Kate: Hi everyone. I am lucky enough to be writing this while having a three month break in Thailand. I managed to send in a set of 'Floral bouquet' cards just before I left, but of course I won't be sending any more for a while. But I just wanted to say how nice it was to log on out here and see all the lovely work my friends are producing back home. Well done to everyone. Keep them coming. I shall keep logging on to see what you have made.

Barbara Kay: It was a surprise to receive the March ATC's as I have had no computer for 8 weeks and had completely forgotton about them. Although I have commented on the ATC's I have received, I have to say that they are all beautiful once again. I can't wait to start on the ATC swap again after missing April and May (due to forgetting what they were! Thanks to the team for all your hard work.
June 23, 2008 3:37AM

ann barlow: i agree with the other swappers what super atc,s well worth looking at every one, what a selection of interpretation on a theme ,so many different and all so good.
April 5, 2008 12:09PM

Joan Counsell: The Egyptian ATC's are superb. It's a Favourite subject of mine and lends itself to artwork hence the fantastic variety of designs. I, am looking forward to receiving any. They are all so good. Thanks Lisa and co. for all your hard work.

ann barlow: hi just to thank lisa ,my art and music all arrived this morning .i hope this means you are feeling better ,and not just fed up with us saying we had,nt received them.i think we all need a bit of sun to make us feel better.
February 23, 2008 8:32AM

thestampmanatcswaps: Hi everyone, all the By the Sea and Home Sweet Home swaps were posted yesterday. I don't think Lisa is well yet and I haven't heard from her so I have swapped these and got them out as I don't want to add pressure on Lisa if she is unwell. I am sure Lisa will post the remaining Art and Music swaps when she can. I have not finished uploading all the swaps into the Home Sweet Home album yet as I exceeded the account picture limit (again!) and I couldn't get the payment to process. I contacted Picturetrail and all is now OK for loads more to be added to the gallery! I'll add the rest asap, and as you will see for yourselves, they are ALL excellent, you really do produce fab work and I wish I had had more time to really study them all before swapping them, the scans really don't do them justice, but at least you get an idea of others ideas on the theme. Thanks again for participating in them. Regards Jill
February 21, 2008 10:22AM

Shirley Bell: I just got back from a traumatic time at the dentist and was SO delighted today for all the swaps from By the Sea Pam Southworth 3/4, J Sandford 2/4, Alison Mitchell 3/4 and Norma Adams 2/6 and Home Sweet Home Evvy 2 4/4, Edna Crighton 2/4, Liz Cordingley 4/4 and Beth Williams 3/4 Thanks for such interesting and different interpretations and also thanks to the stampman admin Shirley

January 31, 2008 9:23AM

karen cass: Gosh these were well worth waiting for. wish I'd done the seaside ones now but unfortunately just didn't have the time.
January 28, 2008 1:39AM

lizzykiz: Well done for getting the 'By the Sea ' ATCs up for viewing.Unfortunately my name has been attributed to the ATCs made by Carol Clark. Hers appear twice, once with her name and once with mine. Looking forward to starting on this month's Liz Cordingley
January 27, 2008 3:34AM

thestampmanatcswaps: Hi all I've now finished scanning the swaps and they are now in the gallery up to date, they are wonderful, as usual. Lots of different ideas for the themes again, it always seems a shame that the true beauty of each ATC doesn't show well on the scanned pictures. Unfortunately, the file for the Winter Wonderland swaps was damaged and I have tried to get them back with no luck. I'm sorry they will not be shown as they were ALL excellent. My scanner is linked to a photocopier which is networked to my PC, (and far too technical for me!). Ever since I went wireless before Christmas I have been having computer problems, and despite many hours talking to call centres, it still isn't as it should be. I did manage to get the scanner back working again so was able to scan this latest batch, I just hope I've solved the problem with that part of the process now!! I've added some new themes so you can start thinking of ideas, but please can you keep hold of your swaps and not post them until the month before. You may have noticed that the gallery has changed appearance slightly, I've done this to match the new colours on our main website. I hope you are all having a good start to the new year!! Jill
January 24, 2008 12:35PM

karen cass: spoke to Gill a couple of weeks ago and she said they'd be up as soon as she has time but she is very busy at the mo. Presume as it's financial year ends and stock takes at the mo that it could be that but don't know. I didn't do the las theme and haven't decided whether to do this months yet but may do so.Don't know any more than that. Don't forget there is only Lisa sorting them on a voluntary basis.
January 19, 2008 5:18PM

Margaret V: What is happening with the swaps? I still haven't received my Art/Music ATCs either. Is it worth doing any more?
January 19, 2008 6:56AM

Joanne: I keep looking out for the october and november swaps, when will they be coming. I've received my winter wonderland swaps but not art and music back from october. Can anyone shed any light? Thanks in advance
January 16, 2008 1:11PM

thestampman: Oh, I meant to say, ALL the swaps were lovely again! Thank you all for putting so much time and thought into your ATCs, they really are a credit to you all. Thank you! Also, wanted to say that it is making a difference keeping to one set per person, thanks for that, but don't worry if you have sent more without realising, it isn't a problem. Jill
December 21, 2007 6:16AM

thestampman: Hi everyone Just to let you know where we are at with the swaps. As you know there are a couple due now, sorry they are delayed again, but I managed to get both lots scanned on Wednesday. I've passed the Art and Music ATC's to Lisa, she is probably picking them up from the shop today and will post them out asap. As I hoped to be able to get your Winter Wonderland swaps out so you have them sometime during the holidays, I swapped and posted these myself yesterday and I just hope they arrive with you all before Christmas! I'm not sure exactly when the cards will be on the website as it's dreaded VAT time again amongst other things like Christmas! But, I will do them as soon as I can. Lisa and I would like to thank everyone for participating in the swaps this year, and for your patience and understanding about the delays and errors (the errors have been more mine than Lisas I have to say!) We wish you and your families a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for 2008. We hope you will keep swapping next year! Thanks again Jill

December 13, 2007 10:26AM

ann barlow: i have just found this guestbook site.and i am writing to say how sorry i am that i had not read your message on numbers of swaps to send .and i have broken the rule of just 1 set.i got carried away and sent 3 art /music .but i have kept to the rule after that.i have found them very adictive and different ones are always popping up in my mind i,m sorry for making your workload harder.but please keep up the good work .its lovely to belong to something like this when you are retired and to feel part of a family of crafters thank you and have a lovely christmas and a well deserved break.
December 13, 2007 8:33AM

Sheila Drysdale: Swaps are fabulous again, some very creative people out there. Anyone wishing to swap personally my postal address is always on the back of my ATCs. I would love to hear from anyone. Sheila Drysdale.

karen cass: Hi girls, I have 3 atcs that I cannot find on the gallery (tho I am extremely tired) I have looked amd looked so thanks you to Gill N for one of hers, to ann Barlow and toHeather and Helen whose work I just cannot find. I'll probably find them all now but thanks anyway.
November 14, 2007 10:01AM

Liz Cordingley: I have just sent my first set of ATC swaps. The galleries of past swaps are inspirational as well as a bit daunting for a beginner but have enjoyed making my first ever ATCs to send to you. Thanks for organizing the swap scheme. Liz Cordingley
November 14, 2007 3:16AM

Maureen Chadwick: Lisa and Jill Many thanks, you both do a great job.
November 14, 2007 12:17AM

Lisa: Sorry, I meant Maureen not sure where Margaret came from!
November 11, 2007 9:31AM

Lisa: Hi everyone! Just to let you know the Autumn swaps are on their way to you. All gorgeous too - I know I say this everytime but they really were! I did notice Jill's little mistake so Margaret's were taken out before all the swaps were done ;o) Hope you like your swaps, Lisa x
November 11, 2007 9:30AM

thestampmanatcswaps: Hi All, just to let you know that I am away at the NEC show first thing Weds AM, so I will make any changes to the mess I've made this month matching up names with the ATCs as soon as I can when I get back. That's the trouble with doing things in a rush!! I'm sure there will be less mistakes when there's only one set of swaps per person and hope you are all OK with this change, I know that some of you that I have spoken to are happy to go along with it. Glad to hear that some of you have started some private one to one swaps, as well as finding new friendships! Perhaps in the future we could arrange for some of them to be scanned and put onto the gallery for all to see? Maureen, I have mentioned to Lisa about your Art and Music swaps and asked her to keep an eye open for them, I know she has already swapped some, just hope she noticed what I didn't... If any of you are coming to the NEC Hobbycraft show this weekend, please come and say hello (and you can tell me off if necessary:)). It will be lovely to meet you and put faces to names, plus we have a little something for you if you do!! Jill.
November 6, 2007 12:54PM

Barbara Kay: Wow! the ATC's for Autumn are fantastic, everybody's interpretation is so different. I dont have the time to comment on everybody's ATC's so a well done to everybody as they are all BRILLIANT. It will be a pleasure to receive any of them, thanks.
November 5, 2007 1:50AM

Maureen Chadwick: Lisa just to let you know you have added my Art and Music ATCs in with the Autumn ones.
November 4, 2007 12:07PM

thestampmanatcswaps: As there are so many people entering the swaps now, please can we ask for just one set of 4 per person. If you have already sent more for the next swap, this is OK, they will still be swapped. Many thanks Jill
November 4, 2007 10:13AM

thestampmanatcswaps: Hi Ladies Swaps are now in the gallery. I tried a different way of scanning/uploading this month, and made a complete mess matching up everyone's names to their ATCs. Lisa has the swaps now so I cannot go through and phyically match them up. Please can you leave a note next to any that are wrong giving the name it should show and I will change them as soon as possible. SORRY!!! Anyway, a beautiful selection again ladies!! Jill
November 4, 2007 10:10AM

Debbie: Got my Summer Flower ATC's this morning, so thank you ladies for all your hard work in sorting them all out. :) I would like to thank Mandy Sullivan, Heather Osborne, Margaret Venning and last but not least Pam Harrison for their beautiful ATC's - I am thrilled with them all. Debbie x
September 25, 2007 7:42AM

Lisa: We have a world record! ATC's collected from the shop at 12.30, swapped and posted by 5.00pm!!! Need to lie down now but hope you like them all, they were all lovely.
September 24, 2007 10:48AM

Jayne: First of all thanks to Lisa & Jill for their hard work sorting out the swaps. Also I hope anyone receiving one of Lukes atcs isn't dissapointed with it as he really enjoys crafting and is very proud of his work, Luke is very pleased with the swaps he received and is going to take them into school to show to his class. The summer flower atc's are all exellent, looking forward to Autumn. Jayne and Luke Halley
September 19, 2007 11:40AM

cedarmarie: I WOULD LOVE TO DO ONE TO ONE SWAPS I HAVE PUT MAILING ADDRESS ON MY SWAPS BUT WILL PUT EMAIL ON AS WELL IN FUTURE
September 18, 2007 3:14PM

Debbie: Yeaa I got my Ribbons and Roses ATC swaps this morning - so I would like to say a big thank you to Margaret Venning for her entwined rose buds, to Alison Cooke for her 1/4,Karen Cass for her acetate one and to Margot Chilvers 2/2, they are all beautiful and it is lovely to see such variety - thank you all very much. Last but not least a HUGE thank you to thestampman and Lisa for their hard work, I really do appreciate the huge effort you are both making and that you are doing it in your spare time. I do hope my postage was correct, and I agree that all envelopes should have large letter stamp to prevent any further costs to yourselves. I would not mind scanning my ATC's and sending them to Lisa - good idea. Also sending in only one batch per month is a good idea. Thank you again for all your hard work. :) Debbie
September 18, 2007 3:40AM

thestampmanatcswaps: Hi everyone Just to let you know that I've spoken to Lisa and although she finished swapping the last of the ATC's on 6th Sept, she posted them afterwards when she was able to get to the Post Office so some are still on their way. A few names I mentioned to her were in the last batch so please give it a few more days. Just a few problems to mention, yes, I'm going to have a moan!!! Royal Mail are getting more strict about the difference between 1st and 1st LARGE, there doesn't seem to be a definite standard and some Post Offices may say 1st is OK, but we have been having to pay £1.06 on quite a number of envelopes we receive. We will NOT be paying this surcharge in future, so PLEASE PLEASE put 1st LARGE on BOTH envelopes. Your entries may be covered by first/second class stamps but your returns may not, and it slows down the swapping process if we have to make sure you've put enough return postage for the contents, decoupaged cards and those with embellishments can cause this and we don't want to ban the use of any crafting items. Also PLEASE can you ALL use appropriate envelopes, some don't even have enough room for us to put a note in! We have even had a swap this month with no address or postage. Lisa and I started the swaps in good faith, firstly with our local customers and it has grown well past our expectations (85 sets this month). We are doing our best and this is in our spare time. This month I have put them first before I tackle a very busy few weeks, the VAT, year end, staff holidays and Harrogate show among the jobs on my list (I've not even got Sundays off), such is my feeling of guilt at the swaps being late! Lisa and I are SO careful with them, and it would help if everyone stuck to the few rules about postage and envelopes, it would make our job much easier. I can understand the confusion after Lisa's note about sending them on 6th September and it is only right that you feel yours may have been lost as you have not received them yet, but it's been a genuine misunderstanding. I have to mention that Lisa has a major commitment starting so if we are to continue with the swaps, please be aware there may be more delays, especially if the numbers continue to grow. How would you feel about only sending one set each per month or scanning your cards yourself and emailing them so that I can help Lisa with the actual swaps? I know that a lot of you really appreciate us holding the swaps, enjoy them and are happy to wait, so I am reluctant to stop them, but we will have to see how we go up to Christmas. If only those of you who have offered to help lived nearer!! Jill
September 17, 2007 11:59AM

Debbie: I haven't received mine for the Ribbons and Roses either. Do you think they have been lost in the post?? Debbie
September 17, 2007 6:30AM

Maureen Chadwick: I also have not recieved my ribbons and roses, my daughter who lives 35miles away as not recieved hers either.
September 16, 2007 12:14PM

Rosemary: I'm still waiting for mine too, and am also getting a bit concerned about them having gone astray! I've just checked the RM website and it doesn't appear that there is any current industrial action.
September 16, 2007 12:07PM

Kate Perry: I haven't received my Ribbons and Roses yet either and nor has my sister who lives the other end of the country from me. Has a whole set of post gone missing? Has anyone received theirs? I continue to watch for the postman each day. Maybe on Monday...?
September 15, 2007 10:47AM

karen cass: really weird as I've not had the roses and ribons and yet it says they were posted on the 6th sept. I know two others that also haven't had any yet.Has anybody received theirs as their are no comments indicating that they have.
September 15, 2007 10:10AM

Chimerastone: Been a while since I last send some atcs. Not telling you my real name as I sent 4 atcs themed travel. Very nice to recieve some good comments even if the last three are from some people I know. Check out my blog at http://csab-mailart.blogspot.com Any atcs, artwork I make and recieve will be posted there. Also looking for people to swap with, no images yet. If you are interested go to my blog and let me know.
September 15, 2007 9:37AM

September 11, 2007 12:28PM

Lisa: Hi everyone! Just to let you know all the Ribbon and Roses swaps have been sent. I know I say this every month BUT the cards were amazing! And there are so many different techniques - all brilliant. I also wanted to say thank you to Sheila for the lovely card, it is much appreciated. And also all the notes you put in - really cheers my day up! Can't wait to see the Autumn ones - my favourite season so I will be very happy sorting those swaps!
September 6, 2007 4:59AM

Kate Perry: Hi.I am new to this; Eastern Promise was my first swap. I put my e-mail address on Ribbons and Roses and will continue to do so. Please contact me with yout postal address if you would like to do a 1;1 swap. I love the four Eastern ones I recieved and am eager to build on my collection.
August 23, 2007 5:08PM

karen cass: My email is on the back of all atcs. Please feel free to email me.
August 22, 2007 5:08PM

Gill: I for one would love to do one to one swaps.allways hopeful when I put my E address on back. Have started to put my postal address on now also. Here,s hoping!
August 22, 2007 9:08AM

Barbara Kay: to Karen, I would be interested in personal swaps, it sounds a good idea, I will put my email address on the back of my ATC's in future. All the Ribbons and Roses ATC's are absolutly stunning. It never fails to amaze me that out of all the crafters that send their cards in, there is never any that are similar, carry on crafting everyone.
August 22, 2007 8:11AM

thestampmanatcswaps: Please can you all let me know if you spot I've got the names on the wrong ATCs. I have to identify them from thumbnails and it is sometimes difficult to match them up correctly. If you can let me know I will change any that are wrong. Sorry!
August 22, 2007 4:24AM

Maureen Cross: 4 lovely Oriental ATCs received today - another good swap everyone - having a break for the August one but not deserting will be back for Autumn - maureen
August 21, 2007 2:49PM

karen cass: i think you do a great job jill and lisa and thankyou for your explanation Jill. I'm sure it isn't easy and i would love to be nearer so that i could help.It would be a shame for this to get too big to cope with as it is one of the best and most reliable swaps I do. IT WOULD BE NICE TO BE ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE OTHER MEMBERS THOUGH TO SEE IF ANYONE WANTS TO DO PRIVATE SWAPS. ANYONE INTERESTED?
August 21, 2007 4:06AM

karen cass:
August 21, 2007 4:03AM

Jean: I received my eastern promise swaps today, they are well worth waiting for. Thanks to Jill and Lisa for your hard work.I really enjoy taking part in the swap and look forward to seeing what comes my way each month.
August 20, 2007 8:59AM

Margaret Harris: Have received my Eastern swaps today and have left comments. All the swaps were brill but I was lucky to have two I really wished for!!. Ribbon and Roses looks like another fantastic swap can't wait to see what I get. Thank you Jill and Lisa for all your hard work, this is a great swap and worth the wait - long may it go on. Margaret
August 20, 2007 6:24AM

Debbie Moore: Hi Lisa, just had a look at all the scanned images of Ribbons and Roses swap and they are brilliant! What a lot of swaps - well done on scanning them and sorting out. I look forward to seeing which ones I get :) Debbie Moore
August 19, 2007 6:12AM

Lisa: Just to let you know they were all posted today, so you should be getting them soon. And the cards were amazing this month - loved every one of them!!
August 15, 2007 11:14AM

Barbara: Hi to everyone, I would just like to say that all the ATC's are looking brilliant as normal, I do not have the time to comment on everybodys cards, so this is to say well done, the standard of cards are fantastic and I don't mind which I receive. Thankyou.
August 15, 2007 10:45AM

Joan Counsell: Call this a long wait?! i sent some to another swap group in June and haven't received anything yet!! Keep up the good and ever increasing work. This month's swaps are excellent. I couldn't comment individually, as they are all so beautiful and show how creaive crafters are. Can't wait to see my selection.
August 15, 2007 3:36AM

Gill: Don,t mind how long it takes -would not like to have to cope with all these swaps. They are lovely -and well worth waiting for.It is so good to see so many swaps and amazing how many versions on a theme . Thankyou for all the time and effort you all put in.I,m sure like me everyone really looks forward to seeing them.
August 14, 2007 1:06PM

thestampmanatcswaps: Hi Ladies, I just wanted to apologise to you all for the swaps being late, it is all my fault, please don't blame or think it is Lisa! The swaps have become more popular than we envisaged and we are trying to do them in our own time. I've had a time problem recently due to staff shortages and new shows on C & C, please can you bear with me? I need to have uninterupted time to open and scan the swaps before passing onto Lisa to swap them. Even opening 75 envelopes takes time!! Trimming the scanned images and loading into the gallery also takes time as I also have to search through pictures and tie up names, as picturetrail deletes the file names when loading which doesn't help! We are both very conscious of getting them right and not making mistakes with them or loosing any along the way, so I wouldn't like to have to rush them because of this. I know this wait isn't ideal, but thought it may help you to have an explanation as to why they are late, I will try and get on top of them as soon as I can. Thank you to those who have offered to help, if only you lived nearer!! I hope you will all keep swapping despite the delays, as your ATC's just keep getting better and better! Regards Jill
