Rebecca: Rebecca-I am Rebecca too and I also do one stroke and similar styled painting. I am very impressed with your animals-I have not been able to capture real-life likenesses but you nail them-especially Mr. Mouse! I *think* you are Abby's sister, but I can't be sure. If you are-you do great work and I have heard a LOT about you! If you aren't-you do great work. :-)
August 3, 2005 9:16AM

Marye Albritton: Your work is GREAT!! I had the same issues when I started painting..4 children and no time. My "practice painting" was my projects. However, I did take lessons once a week as MY time. It was a wonderful group of people and I soaked up everything that I could. Made great friends! As for not looking like Ros Stallcups flowers, girl you are kidding! I've taken a couple of classes with her. NO ONE'S looks the same!! Yours are beautiful and they are YOURS!! With her designs you have to remember to relax. You don't work much at them...they just flow! Keep it up!!

Esther in AZ: Wow, Rebecca; great stuff! I've wanted to start OS, but now I'm intimidated! Just kidding! I can definitely see the progress you've made. You are way too critical of yourself. The idea of having "handpainted" items is that they are all unique, and don't look mass-marketed. Just keep at it, girlfriend--you're GOOD!!
February 7, 2003 12:13AM

Kathy Duffy: You've done a wonderful job. They're perfect.

December 1, 2002 11:21AM

Thank you for sharing with all of us Kerstin
November 19, 2002 8:26AM

BOB: Hello, Rebecca. Judging from your work it is hard to tell that you have such minimal experience in painting. I have been a traditional painter for over 30 years and have taught painting also. It rare to find a student who progresses as rapidly as you have. I have never tried the one stroke method but I have seen Donna Dewberry demonstrate her techniques and have become amazed at the simplicity of her methods. I have also viewed many of her follower's works via the Picturetrail, and must tell you that your work is superior to many I have seen...given the short amount of practice you have had. So pat yourself on the back and keep on practicing as often as you can. The keyword to your success is PRACTICE!!! The more time you can devote to it the faster and better you will become. I wish you the best of success and I will be dropping in from time to time to check your progress. Add one more ATTA GIRL to your collection. LOL
November 17, 2002 11:10AM

Laura: Pretty work, I love the breadbox and the cobalt blue sugar shaker. Did you use FA on the shaker or glass paint? If you used FA how did you seal it so it won't wash off so easily? Keep up the great work, and you're right, "there's always next time!" Laura
November 17, 2002 10:31AM

Patty in NE: How beautiful. I like all the different pieces for your craft show. You do exceptionally well for a beginner. Be sure you mark your prices so as not to give things a way at your craft show. Your talent is worth alot.
November 17, 2002 3:09AM

Alma: Beautiful work. I'm sure you'll do very well at your show.
November 16, 2002 9:52AM

Rita: Your work gets better and better every time you post new stuff! You give me hope :) I adore that bread box. By now, I'm sure you've got LOTS of compliments on it and it is well-deserved. If *I* were to buy something like that (and I'd love to have it in MY kitchen LOL), I'd pay $30 for it EASY and wouldn't blink at $45 either. Good luck at your craft show. Let us all know how it went :) Rita
November 15, 2002 11:40AM

Sandy Pavlic from San Jose, California: Wow, Rebecca! Your work is awesome. I cant believe that you started in Aug. When you sell your items dont go too low. Remember that your stuff is HAND painted, that in its self is higher priced. I was selling my vases for 20 to 25 Also, its a lot easier to lower your prices than to raise them (during the day). Let me know how you do I am very interested. Keep up the good work.
November 15, 2002 11:24AM

Beth: You're work is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! WOW! I can't believe you've been painting such a short time...one would never know! The Breadbox is exceptional...I'm positive it will sell quickly. November 14, 2002 3:19PM

Sharon S: Rebecca, love your bread box, it is really gorgeous! I wouldn't add or take away anything! And even tho you got it for a great price, what would it cost to replace?? It looks very unusual to me! Would want a pretty penny for it!! (Lots!) You have been very busy can see for your show this weekend and all looks great. Don't be impatient, you mention how long things take to paint, well, if you want things to come out looking good, takes a little time! I am much slower than you are and have been at it quite some time!! But have cut my time in half or more now. It will come!! Sharon in Coldwater
November 14, 2002 2:59PM

Cathy in KY: Aren't those mini mug candles wonderful? I love the snowman one especially and what a cute saying. I bought some at the dollar tree and have only put a sunflower on one so far. Did you use the apple barrel or folk art?

Amber Hall, OSCI: Rebecca...well, maybe the mailbox is a teensy bit busy but look at it this way...you can see that already and in the meantime, it's great practice and Rebecca...for a person who has only painted 13 hours, you are doing incredibly well! I also like seeing that you're actually doing projects instead of just doing it on paper. You are a brave one, so you go Girl! Hugs and laughter, Amber
