Ed McKinney: Just browsing the web, and thought of my many hours of operating my father's Case 'DO', the grove/orchard machine of choice here in Central Florida in the mid-'50s. My first experience at operating power machinery, at age 13. It was also the first and only time that I could hand-crank start an engine. A feeling of accomplishment, even before letting out the clutch!
It ran on LP gas, thoughtfully provided by the Case dealer, Pounds Motor Co, of Winter Garden, Fl, for 14 cents per gallon. It used about 3 gallons per hour, pulling a 7' offset disc harrow.
I have no photos of this beast to add to your collection. Thanks for setting up your website, so that these machines (a cast-iron radiator cap?) can be remembered.

Scotty Wiley:
Mr. Caseman,
Thank you for such a great forum. I have learned just how much of a legacy these old tractors have and how much they mean to other people like me. I never really thought about the tractor I inherited until I found a picture of me sitting on it in 1967.(I was 2 years old). Since getting home I have enjoyed every minute of tearing it down and putting it back together. All the more since my son was right there beside me. Thanks again!

Lois D. Duncan: Just looked at the pictures and remembered my days spent on a small farmall tractor pulling a hay wagon. I think that tractor was expected to do too much but somehow it managed without us getting killed. My brother's family had to sell the tractors in the tractors best interest. Donnie and J.R. have them now. At least they are still in the family. I have a green wreath with red berries on it from my brother's funeral. Guess what it has sitting in the wreath at the bottom? You guessed it! A Farmall Tractor. I run across clippings every now and then from tractor pulls that Junior and Connie use to frequent usually doing quite well. Miss my brother but your pictures made me think fondly of him again. Lois D. Duncan

Rick Julson: I own an RC. I was told it was a 1936 model. It had lights until it was restored. It also has live hydraulics. It does have 4 gears but my uncle didn't know about it until they found 4th gear by accident. It wasn't ever marked. He didn't care for farming very much so he rented his land out and ran a tractor repair shop out of his barn. This was right after WWII. His specialty was coverting tractors to propane. So of course this one was also coverted. It not so much as restored as it was fixed back up as Vince redesigned it. Mud would ball up arouund the front forks so Vince added about 3" extentions to cure the problem. OK, so what year do I have? Would you please email me back. I can send pictures if you would like. Thank you. Rick

Robert Nicholson: Greetings from Canada eh!
Wow! this is a great site; not only of the tractors, but the haulers.
I have a 1952 Case VA which we purchased new. What a day when the JL Case truck pulled into our yard and backed into the manure pile. The driver than drove our new tractor into our barnyard. It was a hard worker until 1966 when my dad quit farming. However he did not give up on the tractor. I was able to purchase it in 1985 shortly after his death. Here we are in 2004 and the old tractor and the not so young boy still have great pleasure looking after it and showing it. sorry I got carried away.
I also have a bullet proof 1947 Ford. It has an 8N block along with the 9N 3 speed transmission. Nevertheless, this little tractor has been my bull dozer, stump puller and snow removal tractor.
In addition, I also purchased a 1938 Allis Chalmer B. I am restoring it and would like to equipt it with a belly morrow.
As I drive along the roads in Canada or the USA my eye is always open for that tractor in the back barn or garage which is waiting to be liberated.
Enough for now.
Sincerely
Robert Nicholson

Celeste Hughes:
JR,
It was a pleasure viewing your Case homepage it was full of information that I was unaware of. Not being a country girl I assumed all tractors were John Deeres.
Thanks for history of the Case tractors. This city girl knows more now than she did before I read your home page.
Very informative I enjoyed it,
Celeste

Don Rudolph: When I was born my dad bought a new Case D and when I was 4 I learned how to drive for hay baling (not too good on the corners). I have been a Case man ever since. Thank you for sharing your experiences with everyone. I hope to have a website in the future as well-just not enough time yet. Thanks also for sending information on your local dealers. These are the first I have from Kentucky and I appreciate your trouble. I am also looking for pictures and/or stories you may have about those people. If any of these people are still alive I sure would like to talk to them. Thanks again, Don Rudolph
