Your interests and art are very similar to those in a Yahoo group I run called Creative Chix. It is by invitation only, and your work fits in so well with what we do. We do fabric swaps of all sorts (books, quilties, postcards, ATCs, CQs) as well as lots of paper collage, metal work, clay, you name it. Many of our members also teach and sell. Betty Thauberger: Your work is just drop dead gorgeous; how good of you to share. I am also a SRE group member and have seen some of it before but it is good to see all of it in one place.
Do you mind fielding a question? I'm new to SRE - took a mini workshop about a year ago and then worked on my own (in rather lonely Saskatchewan) since. I have been looking for directions on making broaches & other jewellery but haven't found any. I recently got some metal broach findings which have a metal outline (round, oval, diamond shape) and separate pins for the back. How is the embroidery piece attached to the metal and what is used for backing (to which the pin would be attached). Do you mind sharing this info either directly or on the SRE group.
