Lionel Jardell: Thanks Alex. Enjoyed looking at your site. I have been carving over thirty years and it is amazing how we have carved many of the same subjects. I just recently got around to carving the perched buzzard the pattern which has been around for a long time. Anxious now to try black cottonwood bark. I finish teaching my class at LSU tonight on woodspirits. Maybe next year we will use bark instead of basswood. Lionel

Leon Rogina: I enjoyed your bark wood spirits. I carve canes and walking sticks and I am looking for someone to buy some diamond willow from. We don't have any in our part of the country (southwestern Wyoming). I've been carving quakin aspen, and it's fun to work with and we have plenty of that, but no diamond willow. Leon Rogina

Bill and Andy: Hi! All your carvings are beautiful, but the most excellent of all is "Free Spirit"! I am soooo impressed! What a wonderful brother you are! How blessed I am to receive such an awesome gift from such a precious man! Bill really appreciates it, too, but I am hogging the words of praise because it is a relief with such depth of meaning and he can't get many words in.
