Kathy Pulaski: The reproduction dolls are wonderful! I contacted you months ago to say I was living in Frankfurt Germany...you gave me great resources for doll supplies in Germany. I will be moving back to Maryland in October and am anxious to find out where you are teaching so I can take your classes. Look forward to meeting you in the near future.

Georgeann Kreiter: Loved seeing how you cleaned up the Chase doll and what he looked like before and after. Great costume. Just was looking through comments in the guest book and saw comment about the Marionette. We carried a pair of those in our book store in our church. I had ordered them from 10000 Villages which is a Fair Trade organization helping artisans from around the world to earn a fair price for their products. The ones we had were from India.

marcia bruce: Hello, Judi ~ Your Chase doll is most interesting. Thank you for the pictures. Be sure the envelope you store his 'original' clothes in is archival safe, so it will not unnecessarily deteriorate the fabric. If you don't have an archival envelope, check with one of the scrap booking sites and/or stores. Marcia Bruce

kathy pulaski: hi again Judy, am heading to Viernheim next Saturday. It looks like a cute little village and doesn't look too big to walk around and find the fabric place you recommended. Loved the pics of your home in Germany. Places are a tad smaller than the states and takes some getting used to. I loved your studio, similar to mine. That was one of my requirements when coming here, a sewing room for me. Hope all is going well in DC...

Jane: Hi Judi, I purchased a couple of your patterns in the early 1980's. I found your patterns in a doll magazine and I think you lived in Oregon at that time. Loved those patterns and still have them. It is so nice to find you on the web and know that you continue to create your wonderful patterns. You are such a talented lady. Jane

Marge Daboll: Judi - The secret garden in Heidelberg. Did you go through a gate or door from the street and into this lovely garden that was sort of a courtyard to the surrounding buildings. I think it is the same place I chanced in to. I had the feeling that some of the surrounding structures were apartments. I was enchanted. Marge, in Colorado

Linda: Hello Old Friend! I started doll making back in the '70's when you were here in Washington State! I just found your website, I thought you had closed up shop and treasure all the patterns I still have from you back then. Remember "Rain Sprite?" My 35 year old son still has it, and my 33 year old son still has the "Wizard." In fact, my grandson has a smaller version of the same wizard! Boy are we dating ourselves or what??? I think we both had small children at the time! I can brag a bit can't I? I was lucky, I lived close enough to visit Judi in her shop and toss around ideas and alterations for her dolls on several occasions. Back then you did mostly "baby" type dolls in different stages. I see you've moved into several different areas now and they are wonderful! Don't even know if you remember me, but I made many of your dolls, but settled in with the weighted newborn. I was approached by the University of Washington Med school about making some of the newborns for their birthing classes. They weighed just over 7 pounds if I recall, and easily folded into a fetal position! Unfortunately life got in the way and I was never able to follow through. Well, after 3 sons, I now have a granddaughter! She is what had me surfing, looking for dolls/patterns. Nice to see you're still around dear friend---even if you did move across the pond! Happy Dolling, Linda

February 3, 2006 3:17PM

Katherine Lloyd: I have a similar pattern to that Janet wants, I don't know whether it is one of yours or not as it was the only one like it in a closing sale at one of our biggest stores, produced by a commercial pattern company. I would be happy to send Janet a copy. Now I look properly she has a multitude of plaits but I am sure Janet would work out a way of 'corn-rowing'. My grandaughter Jessica is partly Afro-American, and really corn rows would help tame that gorgeous tangled mane of hers. No ballet school for this 8 year old, she goes to Australian Circus school which is a "feed" for Circus Soleil" Does not know the meaning of fear, it is just we grannies that have the heart attacks. love Katie
December 27, 2005 11:42AM

Janet McDonald: Hello Judy! Im so impressed I can leave you a message! I saw a doll pattern you had many many years ago it was a toddler small doll black with like corn row type hair. Is there any way POSSIBLY I can buy this pattern from you? I lost it many years ago moving. I always wanted to make her. I hope Ill hear from you? I didnt know you lived in Europe..thought you were an American! Sincerely, Jan

S. Romijn: Judy has the most exceptionally beautiful dolls. I just love Milli and the Gambler!! Her instructions are easy to read and understand, and this site is just incredibly user friendly with her generously shared wealth of information and knowledge of techniques. She has definitely altered my perspective from the traditional Raggedy Ann and I can only hope with practice to become this artistic in the creation of cloth dolls! Definitely TWO THUMBS UP and a MUST SEE SITE!! Be sure bookmark her site to see everything for an experience you will not forget!!

aberdeenbarb: Hi, Judi! I love your dolls. I have an album page here too, with some of my dolls. The ones with the sculpted heads and limbs are the first two I made. Could you tell me, if I were to sell dolls like this at an art fair, what would be a fair price? I tend to price things too low, and I don't want to undervalue my work or that of any other artist. Thanks for any ideas you can give me. Barb

Katherine Lloyd: Hello again Judi, it is Katie from Australia. I am so sorry you are still having trouble with your eyes, I will keep praying that there will be a solution found for the problem. It is the sense I would most hate to lose, for all the obvious reasons. Recently a new doctor changed my medication, and being me I got every side effect known to the doctor, but not to me! Amongst these were struggles with my eyesight ( the blind institute sold me split needle, that you just slide the thread down and the tightness where the needle joins near the tip, is sufficient to hold the thread in place) and I also had completely numb finger tips which proved to be a nightmare when machine sewing, I could not feel the tiny screws for changing shanks for the embroidery foot, and kept dropping pins, cups of hot tea etc etc. Thank God most genuinely now that I have changed both doctor and medication the symptoms have almost totally diminished, and I am so very grateful, I would be totally lost without my needlecraft. I feel you are very courageous indeed the way you keep battling on in the face of such an impediment. I so dearly hope that something can be done for you soon. I love the way you have re-constructed the vintage doll, I like the stained version best as she is nearer the original, but each to their own desires. love Katie Isaiah 40: 39

Shashi: Hi Judi, The Vintage doll is lovely. Do you wash the doll in the washing machine or just hand wash the doll after stuffing? I loved all the versions of Mary Annette. She is just too beautiful. Hugs Shashi in UK
