Linda Share: Hi, Sue Swinand sent me your way. I love your work!!! I have a question. I painted a piece of wood furniture and it has glossy and matte surfaces. Is there a spray I can use to seal it that will allow the glossy areas to remain shiny while the matte areas stay flat? I have tried a few things but everything seems to seal with a finish that will become uniform. Or do I have to hand seal it with 2 types of sealer? Thanks, Linda

Karen Cannon: Hi Linda, I found you purely by chance but I'm glad that I did. I hope that you are well...I didn't get a chance to read your entire story ....words like...early stages..uterine cancer...chemo...were shouting at me from the laptop screen when I was really trying to find a link from someone's page to "Linda's Altered Books". Funny, I don't even know if you are the right Linda..LOL. What I do know is that your art is astounding and it speaks to me because just today, my doctor gave me a look that spoke to me with words I've dreaded and they are that the symptoms that I have feared may be troublesome and even now I can't say it...symptoms of cancer. This crazy world of "Blogland" is truly amazing when you really think about it....one push of the button and you "stumble" upon a story that makes you look at your own story and have an "aha "moment....and then it's not so bad. Art truly does have healing powers....and right now I'm rambling so I'm going to go look at your art work! Best of luck to you...

Barbara Alexander: Hi...I was reading the old messages on the beeswax collage group and clicked onto your site. Nice work! I don't know if you are still in the recent messages...I'll check. cinda serafin: Hi Linda, This is Cinda again and I hope all is well with you and yours. I'm taking you up on your offer of advise about beeswax collage. Just made my first 8x10 canvas collage and I am having trouble with the beeswax. It seems so cloudy. Your pieces have such a nice beeswaxed texture yet they remain transparent in all the right places. Maybe you can tell me what I am doing wrong. I am applying white beeswax pellets with a brush. I am using the ranger melting pot to heat the wax and immediately applying it. This is so frustrating because I did so much handpainting and detail work that seems to be hidden by the wax. I love your work and hope you can steer this newbie in the right direction. Thanks Cinda Serafin :) cserafin123@roadrunner.com

cinda: Linda, all I can say is "You Rock!" I stumbled on your page quite by accident but was so enthralled with your story of survival that I could not stop reading. I then discoverd your amazing art and got to meet your beautiful family through photos. I am just getting into the whole beeswax collage thing and decided to to a google search for collage book clubs but found your inpirational site instead. I wish you continued good health and fantastic art pieces for many, many, more years to come. Cinda Serafin

I wish there were more resources for me here in Ireland but it is good to know i can log onto your site and have a cuppa tea and enjoy a fesh breath of creative energy. Thanks for providing me with inspiration. Susan Egan, Co. Cavan, Ireland

sheila Sabatino: hi linda--i just happened to hit your site and was wondering if you were the same linda lynch that i won your auction on e-bay several months ago--we wrote that we would keep in touch and never did--so here i am in touch--if you are the original linda--how does that feel to be called original from a complete stranger??!!? i'll wait to hear from you--if you are the ONE, then let's start a dialogue--you think?? i was blue kalems--i bought a swap book from you and can't remember what else--how are you doing ? i, too, would like to do a series of artwork on being very ill for the past 8 years plus--i want to see it in color--i think it would help me tremendously cope with it all--and help me with my loved ones and others to deal with it also--would love to hear from you--i need a little nudge--it has been such a long and hard process--it is overwhelming to scarey at the same time to put it out there in my art--but i have to--thanks sheila sabatino

Bonnie L Smith: Linda, Hello...you are an inspiration. I needed to see your site. I have been creative my whole life. God gave me diverted talents. My family and friends have benefited greatly, but God wants more. So, this past year I was in 2 craft shows...Nov. & Dec. and I am registered for a show the end of April. Mosiac, button art, purses:mainly cigar box, wired beadwork, teddy bears, & quilting are among my interests. Buttons are my main passion, jewelry mainly. I really enjoy being resourceful. Crafts help me meditate on the wonders of God. I too have been blessed with a wonderful husband. At showers, weddings, birthdays , many times my gift was the only one passed around . I still didn`t get it. I do now...with my husband`s encouragement and support and God`s still small voice I am able to believe in my God given talents. I am a 52 year old seasoned saint and babe in Christ. My walk with Christ has been long and winding. I have no regrets, only gratitude. Your story touched my heart....be well. Joyfully serving, bzbonnie

: This is a new medium for David. He began exploring beeswax collage in 2005 with Linda Lynch, an accomplished altered art artist. He has now moved to paper & stitch collages (making his own paper as well) and fabric collages portraying specifc themes. The collages may be framed or self hanging wall pieces. Paper, and fabric, as well as found objects, may also be combined for a mixed media work.

Iva Collins: My Dear Linda, I really know what you are going through. Not for myself but for my 71 year old husband. He had a massive stroke, has diabitis and has cancer, along with arthritis. I am his only care provider, I will be 70 next month. No children close by to help and no friends who can help and no neighbors who could care less.....Sometimes I think I cant do it another day, i am so exaustedbut I keep going and work on my altered books every chance I have.I make jewelry and write poems and love to draw, God gave me so many talents, I am grearful for all of them. I wish you so much success in all your endeavors. I will keep you in my prayers. I live to ALTER! God Bless Iva Collins

I've learned from you that going through tough situations can make you a stronger person in the end. Thank-you so much for that. I also truly appreciate your help with teaching me how to knit and also how to decorate my home. You have spent countless hours teaching me these things and I hope you know how thankful I am for that. I know God sent you into my life during my time of struggle to take away some of my stress and restore my faith. Please know that I am aware of that and that you have done your job well! I look forward to getting to know you, Jim, and Missy even more over the coming years. :) - Rita

I enjoyed your site so much, and the music is very soothing It makes me want to 'stay' a little longer. I have had 4 breast surgeries, and one rather extensive facial basal cell carcinoma surgery. Since I have been diagnosed with Macular Degeneration, and have been involved with my quilting guild for 20 years, I have ceased pin-pointing that needle, and reverted to my early love of art. I was an Art Major in college and, like you, am fascinated with altered art, and etc. Thanks for your site. I will be back.
