Robin: Hi Carol, I sat next to you at the fashion show on Saturday, (11/4/06), at the Stitches East market. It was indeed a pleasure to meet you and get tips for knitting 2 socks on one circular needle. I finally ordered your Los Lobe Hose pattern from Knit Picks and can hardly wait for those cute little darlings to dangle from my ears. Take care and keep on knittin' ! ! !

caryn klapholz: If you are the same person from about.com, I am certainly impressed with your talent (but you should change the picture on that web site). I first started staring in awe at all you can do a few years ago following carpal tunnel surgery on both hands (a month apart). I couldn't wait until I was allowed to try to knit again--seriously this time. It boggles the mind that one person can be so creative and humble at the same time--teaching, charity work, stuff for hubbie, etc. I almost never do for me, I do for others and give it away. But your talents far outweigh mine. I'm going to try socks (no fear, no panic attacks, this will work). Thanks for the past few years of finding your work and following your talent. Cynthia Price: Dear Carol,
What an inspiration! I am a middle school teacher and an alpaca breeder. I just started South Jersey's first alpaca 4H club. We prepare the fiber and then weave and knit with this fiber. We are involved in community service. I would appreciate any information you could pass along so the members could knit or weave for charity. Thank you so very much,

Bestemor: I am really impressed, so small and tiny.....I just adore your work, and not to mention the genious idea of hanging socks in the ear.
I am a Norwegian grandmother and I have been knitting "all" my life, especially socks and mittens. I just haven't thought of hanging the socks in my ears, BUT I did however (some years agos) knit some pairs of Selbu-mittens to wear in the ear. I did not have the right size of needles to use, so I had to improvise.... I used toothsticks for knitting-needles, perhaps a tip for others to use.
I will try to look up pictures of the small ear-mittens and email them to you so that you can see for yourself.
Nowadays I am most in to knit and felt. first knit, then felting the finished knitted item. I am looking for all kind of "knit and felt-patterns", I have a few of my own, and are most interested in having more, so if anyone has a knit and felt-pattern I would be most interested in a copy, perhaps you would like to have some of mine too?
I want to buy a pattern or two of your ear-socks.
do you sell needles too?
keep up the good work, thanks for sharing your work with us..... all the best from Bestemor in Norway :)

Annette McNutt: Dear Carol,
I would love to knit the things you showed in your pictures! I wish you lived down here so I could take your classes!(North Alabama). My son is dating an exchange student from Venezuela and she wants to learn to knit. She crochets with thread and is a classical musician (sings operatic type and plays guitar),while my son plays pipes and whistles. anyway, I knit continental. any tips on how I can teach her to knit? I started her with the knit stitch on size 8 needles doing continental as it was close to how she crocheted and I thought it might be easier for her.Suggestions? Also, how can I increase my kniting knowledge and improve my knitting? I would like to be able to design my own socks, vests, caps, mittens, etc. and do charity knitting. How did you get the boys interested in knitting? I have 3 boys - 22,20 and 10 but none want to learn to knit! just pipes, drums, horses, and a bit of drawing!
Warmly,
Annette : )

Diane Gittin: Great website--enjoyed seeing all your varied knitting projects. How in the world do you keep track of all those "works in progress"? I myself have only 1 or 2 projects going on at the same time--usually 1 difficult project and 1 that I can pick up and put down easily and don't have to concentrate on so much. I live in Midlothian, VA (home of "Got Yarn") and belong to a local TKGA guild.
Happy knitting,
Diane
