Prema: I'm so excited to try your amazing recipes esp. the ethnic ones. Not to knock ALG's recipes too much, yours look like they would cook up way tastier - more like real food. I hope ALG's upcoming book has your recipes in it. BTW, could I please have your sprouted spelt bread recipe?

I also get persimmons in my CSA box later in the fall, persimmon cheese cake looks yummy. Hopefully i will be at P3 by then. Can you please send me these two recipes. Thanks!!!

Pat S: Charlie, now that I am on Phase 2, I would like to make your sprouted spelt bread. I can buy sprouted spelt flour at the local co-op, also white and whole grain spelt flour. Before f-flushing, I made sourdough bread, as I am allergic to commercial yeast. So I have a starter in my fridge, waiting to be refreshed. Can you send me the recipe?

You look absolutely radiant.... and beautiful inside and out. I am almost where you began; 217 my highest weight and said the same thing about being overweight... a beached whale. Patience and education are virtues! I love the cranberry cocktail with Stevia in it. I partially freeze mine and its a nice treat. Like you, I am a very good cook so when I googled recipes I found your website and felt like I hit a gold mine! Thank you for sharing....it really helps Phase 1 to be more palatable. Sharon ---fancy painter: Hello Charlie, I can't tell you what seeing your pics and seeing your age!!! WOW girl you are such an inspiration. I am 51 years old and I am at my highest wieght not pregnant or post partum!! So I am feeling really awful abouit myself. I have tryed so many diets and have always failed miserably I would get so far and get discouraged and just go back to my fat ways figuring I'm doomed fo rthis way of life. But recently I've come to a conclusion that I amso sick of feeling this way.....I have to chage and I will reach my goal weight. Right now I'm 230, and I put down if only I could reach 175....but I remember 157!! I see after seeing you that its possible. I'm not to old and I can do this. Thank-you for sharing. Also this display of pics and guest book is really neat....I wish I was more computer savy!!! Take Care, Sharon / Fancy Painter

pranamama: Love your recipes! Thanks for sharing. I don't mean to be dense but P1 refers to phase 1 correct? The reason I'm confused is because I see on some of the recipes, ingredients like carrots and beans that I thought were off limits in P1. Help!!!! Thanking you in advance, Beth

I am starting from 190 at 5'7" and am 44...I fat flushed last May down from 186 to 167 and then thought I looked so darn good I started hitting the weets and carbs again with abandon....straight back to where I am right now. I am on Day 3 of my of my journey back to health and I saw your quote "Failure is sacrificing what I want most for what I want now." Thanks for the recipes and especially the pics...it helps me to see what I am aiming for....my goal is 146 as well and to keep it off this time! Any tips for making cran water from fresh cranberries? My attempts look like they are not concentrated enough.

Sophia: Oh my Goddess! I just love all your albums & your picture recipes! You look gorgeous! I followed you here a couple hours ago from the Cad/Calp group on the Active Low-Carber forum & have thoroughly enjoyed my visit!! I did FF 3 years ago successfully but couldn't maintain... I don't remember FF being so yummy.......Before that, in 1995, I lost 47 pounds on Cad, a plan I loved, & kept that off for a long, long time, until the onset of 'M' last year & the pounds are slowly creeping back.. .....Now, I'm serious & want to do Calp, but can't find much online support----same with the 4 Corners diet--that also looks like my type of plan---I find the online support really helps me, but that is almost nonexistant.....Are you doing a modified FF/Calp program now? I would love to hear about what you are up to. Hugs, Sophia in S.Fl

But now with all the inspiration I have gotten from your site, I think that time I will actually be able to do it. Thank you so much

Stephanie Hester: I added this to your bread recipe page too ... Thank you so very much for taking the time to put all these recipes on your site. I can't tell you how excited I am. I am definitely cretive-challenged when it comes to the kitchen, especially now that I'm on the FFP. I can't wait to try so many of these. They look phenominal. Can you please email me the recipe for the spelt bread? I'd love to have that too. Thank you again!!
May 9, 2006 11:54AM

Mary: hi Charlie! You look amazing... I'm 50 and trying the FFP - day 8! I've lost 20.4 LBS!!! I REALLY need these recipies. They LOOK wonderful. Thanks so MUCH!
April 30, 2006 5:23PM

Mary: This is a wonderful and encouraging site. I have been on FFP for 2 weeks, have only lost 3 lbs., did not measure myself, but I know I have lost inches. I have been able to wear a few items that have been in my closet for at least the last 3 years. I am 49, will turn 50 at the end of the year. I am presently 200 lbs. my goal is to shoot for 150 lbs. which my doctor would love. However, I am having trouble staying on the plan, I have restarted many times. Seeing your pictures have given me the courage to try and continue. Thanks will visit your site more often.
April 15, 2006 7:48AM

Barbi Brown: Being a FF newby your testimony is encouraging! You're a seasoned Fat Flusher and, I can see, a big help for those just starting out. Thanks for the recipes too.

February 19, 2006 7:56AM

Deborah: We are about the same age. I will be 52 this May. While I didn't have as much weight to lose as you, I have had great success with the Fat Flush diet. Down 25 pounds and 5" in my belly since early December (so all this in less than 2 months). I managed to stick with it in spite of Christmas Cookies & Candy all around me and a month long trip on the road. I saw my blood sugar normalize (which had stayed stubbornly in low diabetic range since the birth of my second son 18 mos ago). I was struggling more than ever the last few days as my weight has been stuck without going down and I began to feel hungry at bedtime and very tired. I think it's my fat cells just now having discovered what I have done to them and deciding to challenge me. I read your response on "I think I'm on a Real Plateau" at iVillage and so came here to your website. You are truly an inspiration. BTW I had almost waist length straight hair that had turned dishwater brown from the blond I was born as. I haven't lightened it up but an inspired hairdresser gave me a very similar cut to your new "do" - really without my authorization to cut it so short (I had my eyes closed as she was cutting and actually gasped when I saw it). Anyway, everyone loves it, although it did take me a week to truly get used to and accept it. I like it now myself.
February 11, 2006 6:10AM

ramblin1: After reading your incredible story, I would like to find out more about the fat flush as I haven't heard about it previously. Thanks for any info you can send.

Jennifer Crowley: I have been doing another "low carb" diet for about a year now and have seen great benefit (weight loss, clear skin, no more headaches or other ailments for that matter)but as a personal trainer and food freak I have been looking for something that I feel is more healthy and nutrient dense. Meat, cheese and some lettuce doesn't seem to fit the bill! I also am having a hard time maintaining my weight at this point and think it is the lack of nutrients and fiber. This plan seems to fit the bill and your recipes look devine!! My hubby and I love to cook and come up with new ideas all the time. These will help us out as we start this new way of eating. I am only on day 2 and do not have a ton of weight to lose (10-15lbs) but I have been there and struggled myself. I just can't wait to see what this can do for my body, soul and health. Thanks for the ideas...Oh, the hubby wants the bread recipe, PLEASE! He wants it for lunches... Thanks again, you really should do a cookbook!!! Jennifer

October 11, 2004 11:52AM

cleo1097: Hi, you are fabulous,God Bless you and keep you thin! What must I do to be able to copy your recipes? You mention some ingredients I must have missed in the book, basil and oregano which are staples in my house along w/thyme and rosemary. Because of my H's HBP I don't use salt in cooking and have always used those herbs along with the trinity (g,o&c)to give sauces and meats a good flavor. I'm trying to get used to cumin and tumeric but I taste them for hours after a meal which is rather annoying. Anyway, I applaud your creativity, you are my kind of gal, any chance you are an aries? I hope to contribute my own recipes in the future, though I have to learn to use my new digital camera first I'm sure. Your presentation is flawless. Thanks, Olga

I just sent you an email, so I hope I'm not nauseating you with my comments, but your attitude and humor and your example and your recipes make it all seem that much more possible!! I never thought a recipe, and learning that it was "legal" on P1 would make me this happy! Thanks so much-- Betsy aka Betsydale

cinnamon from FF forum: Hi Charli- Thanks for your supportive and informative response to my plaintive (whiny??) wail on the FF forum. I do get frustrated and fantasize giving up, but I do need to deal with both the health issues and the vanity issues. Your amazing pics and the accompanying celebrity are as inspiring to me as they are to all these other women. Seems I am not the only one who is 190-ish, 5'7". I'd love to make it to 160 by MY 50th b'day in September 04. And you are incredibly inspiring. I am presuming that you really followed ALGs guidelines "religiously" and that that is the answer. With gratitude and admiration for the amazing thing you've done for yourself. -"cinnamon"

Andrea: Charli you look great! I am very encouraged by you. I am about the same weight as you and height. I am going to change my goal weight from 160 to 150! Thanks for all the supporting posts I see on the iVillage boards.
March 18, 2004 11:14AM

MarjH: What an inspiration you are. I am the same weight as when you started and I have the same goal as you. Any chance you'd like to be a support buddy and help me figure out some of the questions along the way? I am 56 and used to be an insurance executive. Then I turned 51 and suddenly noone wanted me. I kept trying to get doors to open but to no avail. So, with the help of some friends, I moved to Northern Idaho, a place where people tend to "start over" and decided that if I was going to do something else, than I'd do something I love....sing! It has blown my mind that an over 200 lb fifty-something woman was so well received as an entertainer. If they love me now, their gonna love me more at 145! I'm going for it! - Marj Hopkins
