Donia: Hello,
I am about to embark on my journey of losing 150 pounds. I have already lost 50 from my highest weight of 375 and I'm 5'3. I am feeling very nervous about the loose skin that will be left and I ran across your site. Thank you so much for having the courage to post all of your progress photos. It helps more than you may realize. I am sitting with tears in my eyes. Not only for you, knowing what you've gone through, but for the hope that perhaps I will be as successful some day.
Thank you again,
Donia

Kim: Thank you for documenting your incredible journey! The web is full of vague references and what I have been looking for are answers. Your site provided that - and a window into my own pain, fears, hopes, and dreams. Things I couldn't bear to bring myself to think about are here both good and unbelievably bad. Seeing that you handled it and not only survived but flourished makes me feel like it's not impossible. All I can say is you are amazing!

Jana: Dear Caroline, I found your groups on Yahoo and signed up tonight, then followed your link here. Wow! You look amazing, and I would never have guessed at what all you've been through! Your body is fantastic and your heart and soul shine with the understanding and encouragement you are sharing with others. Thank you!
Could you e-mail the password for your PS albums when you get the chance. I know that when I'm done losing all my excess weight I will need a breast lift, abdominoplasty and panniculectomy or even full body lift - and who knows about the thighs and arms. ??? They are already wrinkly (and I'm 43 so there's not much elasticity to bounce back). :0) I am thrilled to see what can be done when you have the desire to see it through...

We would like to be able to see the reconstructive surgery photos, as we have many questions about those proceedures. Might I add, you are the most courageous person I have ever seen in the WLS arena. Your documentation is the most extensive I have ever seen, and the most powerful message to people like us!

Cheri Melone: Caroline, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. Your pictures are outstanding. Every time we are put under we all have that fear that this may be our time. God must have called hime for a reason. I have just beem diagnosed with my 6th hernia. The nurse would not give me any more info because the Dr is on jury duty and she said she doesn't understand the rest of the results. This only means to me that this will be surgery number 5 since Jan of '02. May God bless you and all of us. Cheri

vivian allen: My sympathy goes out to you. Being in God's memory is the safest place a human can be. Jesus said of Lazurus, "He is sleeping". Sleeping in death awaiting his resusurrection. May God keep you and comfort you at this time.

Carol McKenzie: I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. He is at peace and with God now.
September 23, 2005 6:15AM
Loraine May: I am so sorry to hear of your friends passing away. I guess we all know the surgical risks going into it, but never think its really going to happen to us. I felt as though John did, of course I wanted the positive outcome, but I was ready to meet the Lord as well if it was his will. I was so obese that I knew I was dying anyhow and I would be greatful for God to take me to ease my suffering, if the wls was not to be for me. But I thank God everyday that it worked for me with no complications and I am down 126 pounds in 4 months. I sure wish John were here to share in all of our successs and we could share in his as well. But we will meet again soon in a much better peacefull place. He is free from his burden of the weight and running around heaven chasing clouds and keeping and eye on all of us.
Thank you for sharing these incredible pictures.
Laura from Ohio.

I visited here and also your web page. I think you would make an excellant program coordinator and I hope your are able to pursue that ave. I also enjoyed seeing the amazing transformation. I've lost 75 so far in 4 months. I have approx. 110 more to go. Already the skin is pooling even though I am working out at a gym. The plastic surgeons in CA are some of the most creative I think because they do so much of it there. I will definately be looking into it. Have a nice day now and thanks for sharing your photos

I then found out i could get wls and my insurance would cover it. So now my little breast has fallen down. Thay look like tubes now. But, I can live with that also. As much as i would love a lift. But, I can say wls was worth every minute. You look just wonderful. I know you are have work so hard. I want to look at your pictures but i don't have your password to get in. I don't see it in your profile. Thank you very much if you can give it to me.
You have a wonderful and safe week-end. Debra

Thanks for being so free to share your experience with us/me which gives me the courage to follow through on my WLS which is 02-03-05 in STL. I have been involved in a WLS support group but it does not seem no where near as much fun as yours. I would like for you to stay in touch with me via email just to be of support to me going through this. As you well know, it is very difficult. Through your pictures, you make it look so easy, which i know is not true. I am proud of you and God bless you. Thanks again for sharing your journey; it has helped me more than you know. phyliss mortz: Caroline, I came across your urgent message a couple of days ago & read everything you had on your site. I also looked at the pics of the excess skin. I have a lady at my church that had the surgery in March. I was telling her about your skin problems. She said that the "SHRINERS" would pay for the surgery beacause they use the skin for skin graphs. My daughter has been trying to get the insurance to approve her sugery. She is looking into going to Mexico to Dr. Alberto Aceves. His total price is 8 grand, but he does banding. What do you know about this procedure. Good luck.Phyliss

I will be attending a seminar in August and hopefully from then on the process will begin. Although I've been told by several people that my healthplan will require a 6 month supervision by a Dr. That initially made me angry but I figure I've waited this long, what's 6 more months...right? I'm excited and I just can't wait until I'm where you are now. Take care!

Since I first started reading the CA message board you have become one of the people I've been the most interested in. You give so much information that is useful to someone like me.
I looked at your list/pictures of 'must have' for post-ops and thought it was a great idea. And, it goes without saying that your before/after pictures are amazing.
Take care and see you on the California board.

I had my surgery almost five years ago but health problems made me have to have my surgery reversed in August. Since then I have put on a lot of pounds and am fighting like mad to take them off. It is an uphill battle. Part of me is so jealous of you but yet I am so happy for you and your successes. Good luck :) www.angelfire.com/id/wls

Frances Brannigan: You sound like you have met a great group of friends through WLS. It seems that you're located in Southern California - am I correct?
I presently live in New York City and am scheduled for my WLS on February 26, 2004. Once I have recovered and am well enough I'm planning on moving to San Diego. I would love to get involved somehow with all of you and get to know more people, both on line for now and then personally when I arrive in San Diego. I think it's a great support group you have going there! If anyone wants to e-mail me please feel free.
Thanks!

Kerley Q: I spent well over an hour viewing all you have to display on your web sight and I feel like I know you now. I first started off by viewing your photo's before and after on the obesity website. I will be having my surgery soon. You are an inspiration Caroline. You have a wonderful man who has supported you and many aniamals to hug and to hold. but I will tell you that picture that has brought tears to my eyes is the one of you holding Mia after she has gone. it reminded me of my precious baby "Dottie" who passed last year of 15 years of love and devotion. I felt your pain and love in that picture of the two of you. I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed your show of pictures you have displayed. Thank you for sharing! Karen Kerley
