The workshop is called "Strategies for Knitting with Self-Patterning Sock Yarns" and your waffle st sock is a great example of a stitch pattern that really works. Have never made dolls, but socks - I've made a lot, since the only winter socks my son-in-law will wear are the ones I make. He works in construction, and needs WARM stuff!
