Ron T: Hi David, I got sidetracked from carving making knives and found an old thread which lead me here, not my first visit. I like your knives a lot and see I'm not alone trying different blade lengths and shapes. Your handles are really nice.

Richard: David, You and your wife are very talanted artists. I am a wood carver as well and followed your link from the Wood Carving Illustrated web site. I am so glad that I was able to view some of your work. I especially liked the Blue Heron and all the photos showing it coming alive from start to finish. Keep up the good work and stay on your wife to continue her carving as well. God Bless!

Ron Martins: I live in Linden, NJ and had a magnolia tree in my back yard that had grown too large, so we trimmed off all the limbs, leaving only the trunk, which is about 15 feet high, and about four feet in diameter. I am looking into the possibility of having someone carve the trunk into some type of statue or scuplture. I could forward some photos, if you are interested or can recommend someone. Thanks for any assistance you can offer - Ron Martins

tuklonita: I received your message welcoming me to the forum. Thought I'd write a few lines (ha-ha) to clear-up a question that you might have had concerning the length of time I have been working wood. (ha-) In the summer of 1946, I was on the rear stoop with my dad's keyhole saw and a piece of wood making a gun to play with. A hornet flew by my face and I mistakenly swatted at it with the narrow saw. The insect attacked my face by stinging me between the eyes. Mom said that I made several rounds of the house (small house) screaming. Having been born in 1940, in the year 1946, let's see, yes, I have it now, I was six years old.

In fact, I'm on my way there right now and will be there in 3 days...think you might want to meet me in Eloy at the Pilot? I'll check my e-mail regularly...Cheers!
