Sally Massa Stringer: First I wish to thank you for your website. I also grew up in a close sephardic community in NYC. I am a first generation. I live here in Los Angeles now and wish to learn Ladino. Do you know where I might get lessons. I miss hearing the language spoken and have forgotten so much. Can you help me out? I am from the Cohen/Abolafia family on my Mother's side and the Massa/Bello family on my Fathers side. I would love to hear from you. Thank you kindly.

Mr. DADOUN CHARLES: DEAR SIR
I HAVE DONE A SEARCH ABOUT THE JEWS OF SPAIN AFTER INQUISITION. BUT THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU. THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS THAT I FOUND YOUR WEBSITE BY SURFING ON THE NET AND IF I AM INTERESTED IN THE NAME BENVENISTE IT'S BECAUSE I HAVE MARRIED A BENVENISTE : MICHELLE BENVENISTE DAUGHTER OF LATE DANIEL BENVENISTE FROM CAVALA IN GREECE THESSALONIKI(AND KNOWN AS DINO BENVENISTE). MY FATHER IN LAW HAS ESDCAPED THE RAZZIA OF WW II IN GREECE AND ESTABLISHED HIMSELF IN FRANCE. HE LIVED IN BORDEAUX FIRST THEN IN NICE (CÔTE D'AZUR). I STILL HAVE IN-LAWS BY THE NAME OF BENVENISTE. WOULD YOU BE KIND ENOUGH TO LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE FAMILY OR NO AS I AM DOING A RESEARCH? BY THE WAY, I READ ABOUT THE ORIGIN OF THE NAME... AND MUCH MORE AS YOUR WEBSITE IS VERY INTERSETING... WOULD YOU HAVE LINKS (URL) THAT MIGHT GIVE ME THE MAP OF THE « ITINERARY OF THE JEWS OF SPAIN AFTER THE INQUISITION?» IF YOU KNOW ABOUT FEW MAPS THAT WOULD BE BETTER...
THIS IS THE MAIN PURPOSE OF MY MESSAGE TO YOU. I HAVE SEEN YOUR PICTURES AND I AM AMAZED TO SEE THE 3 GENERATIONS IN ONE PICTURE! bY THE WAY YOU TOOK VERY NICE PICTURES.

Bienvenida Rosa Bahar (Behar, Bejar) and I would love to hear from anyone who knows anything of my family, or has a similar name, and originated in Turkey, Spain, and Morocco.

Bobbie Ann Moneda: I was recently informed by a Spanish linguist that Moneda is a Jewish name. Furthermore, my mother told me that her family was from Castille and that they were responsible for keeping books of some kind. I appreciate your website on Ladino and will consequently read as much as I can on the subject. Kindly, Bobbie.

Albert Barouh: I am a sephardic jew. My parents left Istambul, Turkey in 1920 and settled in Havana, Cuba. I was born there in 1924. My parents chose Cuba as a stepping stone to the U.S. but once there, felt they understood the language and decided to settle there. Of course, I understand and can speak Ladino, Spanish and English. I have been in the U.S. with my family since 1960.
