Album: Don Spear

I love to make pictures that (1) tell a story or elicit an emotion, such as wonder, sentiment, or sex (2) follow a definite pictorial structure, of which there are four- dominant mass, "S" curve, use of a diagional, or an arrangement of triangles (3) use the rule of thirds, and (4) give consideration to good photographic lighting. That is the formula I use to make pictures. It is aimed at one goal-- to get you to look at my pictures-- maybe a little longer and more closely than you would otherwise do. Don Spear, March 2009
