Album: Church Doors

This album contains photos of panels carved for the front entrance doors to our church, St. Elizabeth's, in Bristol, Rhode Island. The two side doors reflect the Biblical symbols of the four evangelists, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The first four of six panels were completed during the autumn of 2005 and were displayed for the congregation during the weekend of October 23rd. The center panels depict scenes from the life of St. Elizabeth, Queen of Portugal, patroness of our parish church.

These panels were designed primarily with two of our children, Kathleen and Bill, with early input from Fr. Tom Ferland, Fr. Mark Malone and Fr. Joe Santos. Extensive and valuable carving assistance was also volunteered by three of my carving buddies, John Mello, John Mitcheson and Frank Sherman. This was another great "team" effort by our "Splinter Group" of the Yankee Woodcarvers Club. My thanks to all. God bless your talent and your sharing attitudes.
