Hi my name is Yvonne Moxon and I design & make one of a kind 12th scale miniatures and Kits. Its hard to pin point exactly when I first took an interest in miniatures. As a child I was fascinated by all things small and played with my sisters Triang dolls house, however I do remember preferring to remove the furniture and make it fit into a smaller case so I could set up little 'play areas' in various places around my home, the favourite being behind the sofa. I have always loved making things from bits and pieces. Before my mother had finished the contents of a gifted box of chocolates I already had my name on it & a project in mind. Empty packaging and boxes were creations waiting to happen, those swan shaped Easter egg boxes were another favourite. I made my first proper 12th scale miniatures in the 80s. At that time I had a craft business making Jewellery from clay and decided to make something different. I made 12th scale topiary trees, jugs of flowers & little trays set with coffee tea and biscuits, wine & cheese picnics in baskets and baby animals. My mother & sister still have some of those pieces in their dolls houses today. I went back to college to study Art and Jewellery and also City & Guilds Embroidery...another interest I have had from a very young age. A renewed interest came about when my daughter was given a Dolls House kit for her 10th birthday 4 yrs ago. After building the kit I was hooked. I decided it needed a personal touch and wanted to fill it with stitched pieces and so I set about on the embroidered pictures, silk baskets and pillows....I now sell these on Ebay, Etsy and through www.CDHM.org (in the 'needlework, crochet and linen' section) and I also accept commissions. if there is something special you would like to have re-created in miniature...please get in touch.
