Carolyn found these blocks pieced by her mother-in-law in the early 1900's. She went on a search to find fabrics to finish the quilt to a queen size like their bed. Then they got a king size bed so she had to rethink what she was doing and make the quilt larger to fit her new bed. I think she did a great job finishing up the blocks to get them square and her borders were perfectly flat -- even though she claims she is NOT a quilter! (I think we've got her hooked. VBG)
