30X36X25 Built 5-1-06

We built these cage's It took an afternoon for each. It is cheaper than buying a kit and we were able to make them bigger, this one is 30 X 36 inches, it has 2 doors on top and the whole thing lifts off of a 3 inch drop pan for easy cleaning, but the nicest thing to me is the hight, because we built it our selves we used the 24 inch 1X1 wire and after loosing 3 inches for the droppan area the birds still have a 21 inch high living area, If you buy pre-made cages they are never more than 16-18 inches high. And I think the chickens are more comfortable with the extra 3-5 inches in hight. This is the LARGEST size cage you should try to built out of wire with out a frame. WE BUILT A 48X48 inch wire cage and it is kinda flimsy.
