Monet's Garden

The result of many hours work, this piece has been stitched using a combination of Satin, Straight stitch & French knots, it has been an inspiration in itself to explore and learn more about the garden Monet himself created and painted. Inspired by Monet's " Jardin de Monet, les iris " this is an intricate study of the artists garden. A beautiful profusion of Iris flowers set against a backdrop of trees on a delightful sunny day. The original painting was completed in 1900 & now held in the Musee d'orsay, Paris. measures only 35mm x 47mm, including the handmade wooden frame which has been made & gilded in gold, by myself for this piece.
