Scarlet, 1981

In 1981, at age 19, I finally found Liddie Dyer. She owned a wonderful farm in Franklin and was the most accomplished dressage rider and instructor in our area. I had always wanted to do dressage, and had a yen to event, so once I found her I never really left! This is me with Scarlet, an amazing Heinz-57 mare who had done everything in Pony Club, and who happily helped me work on my jumping. She lived into her 30s and I still think of her fondly.
