Album: Octopus

Colourful, mobile, intelligent, fluid and hypnotic. Octopus are probably my personal favourite night dive creature. The way they move and hunt becomes a challenge for the diver to keep with them without upsetting them. That and the small worms that flood your lights when stationary for too long.

The female gives birth to thhousands of eggs and will not leave them. She hoovers them and turns them with suction cups. Unfortunately often dying in the process. An estimated 4 may make it to adult hood.
