Album: The beautiful weavings of my students

On these pages, you will see the work of my young students, and my adult students. I use the same teaching techniques for both. As a result, great, young weavers are produced. Attention is paid to teaching the students that mistakes MUST be fixed, and that 80% of weaving is dressing the loom, so let's learn to love that part also.

A first time student in my class is expected to dress the loom, and produce a piece in 4 weeks of 2.5 hour class once a week. That is actually 10 hours. The first piece is often a mohair scarf, or a rag rug. In my classes, students can expect to learn to love dressing the loom as much as weaving off the project. Once each month, my weaving students have the opportunity to take an additional 4 hour workshop in dyeing, sectional warping, or spinning. The workshops are intended only as an introduction for the purposes of wetting the appetite for more, and providing custom yarns for use in class.
