NGC2024 (The Flame Nebula, The Christmas Tree Nebula...) It is a region of gas and dust in the constellation Orion, part of the same region in which the Horsehead Nebula is found. The bright regions are emission nebula charged by the 'newly' formed stars they enshroud. The dark regions are gas and dust which obscure background starlight.
