Album: Summer classes - teaching kids!

Wow, another summer teaching in the "Artventure" program at the Hand Workshop and I have survived. Well, so far at least. In the summer, we focus on teaching kids and introducing them to a lot of art and fine craft methods. Year ''round, we teach adults, and in the summer, the doors are opened and young talent pours in!

It is wonderful to work at the Hand Workshop in the summer, because scholarships are offered to insure that kids from many socio-economic backgrounds have opportunities to explore their artistic side. These young artists are encouraged and their talent nurtured and coaxed into more mature talent. Sometimes, I am humbled by their talent. If you or your guild would like to encourage young weavers, please consider sponsoring a scholarship to an emerging, young weaver through the Hand Workshop, or donating money to our weaving program.
