56 stitches on size 2 needles. I began 2" above the ankle with a provision cast-on, knit the foot, then up the leg with k5p2 ribbing. At the top I increased to k2p2 ribbing for the last two rows, binding off with a size 6 needle. Beware of knots in the skein and re-wind your yarn before you begin to knit. Was thinking of naming these "Trust But Verify" or "Don't Trust This Yarn" socks. . . . A surprise b-day gift for my sister July 2004. These socks match and I even got the heels and toes to come out purple, her favorite color.
