Album: Astrot born end of August 1998

These are pictures of Astrot, fondly referred to here as either "Big Stupid" or "The Big Duh". He's a sweet boy -- a full Egyptian Arabian Gelding -- but BIG!!!

When we rescued Astrot as a 3-month old in December 1998, Astrot came to us skinny and full of worms. The vet said his fecal count was so high she stopped counting. Astrot's hair was falling out. In short, he looked HORRIBLE! He should have been stunted, but, like Clifford the Big Red Dog, my husband loved Astrot so much that he grew to 16.2 hands! Astrot is now in training to hopefully be a sport horse. He does not learn quickly, but he tries very hard and is very beloved.
