Album: Springfield Fair Aug 28 to Sept 1, 2003

This is the first time my husband and I have ever entered our hobbies into a fair. I have done many craft fairs over the last 25 years, but never thought I was good enough to win a ribbon or a cash prize. Though this was a small fair, there were over 200 different entries in the many catagories. I was very surprised that my socks took 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place. I was told that was because they had never seen heels and toes reinforced and that was the reason behind the wins. Wonders never cease!

Alan and I were both surprised when we went back today to pick up our entries. I think he was more surprised than I was. I knew his whittled items were the best! He did great and hope this will get him into the mode again to make some new items for next year. We have decided to enter the big State Fairs next summer so we will both have to get our creative juices flowing and get busy over the winter months that are ahead.
