Album: Beverley Folkard - Books

I have made books for many years.... but only realised when I took on textile studies that I had been doing so!
I worked in the UK as a Legal Secretary - where important documents are sewn together, with what I now know to be one pattern of Japanese Stab Bindings. I must have made hundreds of these.

I like making books of every type and description. Never seeming to tire of the challenge and enjoyment from seeing books of all kinds.
I've concentrated on structure, and am now experienced in many various bindings. Content is something to explore.
In this album can be found just a few of my collection.

Open Spine

This is a little different from usual open spine construction in that the signatures were sewn over the tapes, and the tapes were machine sewn to the cover paper before it was attached to the cover boards.
