Album: OCTOBER 2008

What a wonderful summer we've had living in the woods on Lake Jocassee. It will come to a close soon but, meanwhile, we are enjoying cooler temperatures and beautiful, blue, cloudless skies! The drought has been severe which has caused very low lake levels but the lack of rain has brought lovely weather.

We've been so blessed to have friends and family from near and far visit us during our first summer of remote living. It takes a commitment to make the trek to Itta Bena, either by water taxi (prearranged boat trip) or a two hour drive (prearranged 4-wheel drive) through the mountains on old logging trails.
