I feed my baby silkies . I make boiled eggs and cook oatmeal mix well they love it they dive right into it.I also feed the babys steamed rice, brewers yeast, grated carrots, and vitamins. they also get baby grit, apples not many .
For the adults. I also feed them boiled eggs ,steamed rice, grated carrots, cooked oatmeal, vitamins, rolled barley, whole wheat, whole flax seed, sunflower chips, kelp, wheat germ, they just love it all i also give them scratch feed . they love fresh spinach, raisins, bananas, berrys all berrys, zucchini, frozen veggies they love them ,grit, oyster shells.macaroni, almost any thing we eat they eat and they love all of it they will talk as they dive into it . to worm my silkies i use ivomec 1 percent cattle injection. how i do this is for adults I use 3 cc to a gallon of water and for babys I use 1cc to a gallon of water. or you can just give it straight in the throat to make sure they get it and it is 8-10 drops for a hen and 10-12 drops for a rooster . to flea i use adams flea and tick dip and spray. with the dip i dip when it is real warm because they will be dripping so they like the sun to dry off .the spray I use in between I spray the bottom never around the face. I also keep DE down in the bedding .I also use De in the feed .also i use frontline spray . there is a dust powder I get at one of my feed stores i put down in the bedding and it keeps the mites ,fleas and what ever else off of them.with the scalex what i do is give them a bath spray with scalex and blow dry.do not spray the vent if for some reason they have mites in that area use vaseline because some sprays make them sterile.I also give my silkies calcuim tabs i break it in half grind it and add it to a gallon of water .I give them vitamin b comlpex also i buy the liquid and there is a dropper i fill it half way and i put that in a gallon of water.
