Here we are in the Palm Springs Desert area. There are actually five towns that run together, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert and Desert Hot Spring. We happened upon this wonderful RPI park when looking for a place to hide out from the rain. Yes, it actually rained 8/10ths of an inch on November 30, 2007. The total was more rain than the desert has received in all of 2006 and 2007 and the FIRST time it has rained in 2007. Hopefully, things will soak up enough moisture to reduce the wildfires that have plagued southern California this fall.
