Album: Heirloom Wicker Bassinets and Cradles by Cathryn Peters

These free-form, reed wicker, full-size baby bassinets and cradles are ones I began designing and creating in the late 1980s. Throughout the years I have made close to 20, some with the entire bedding package and some without.

As you see, some are bassinets on oak stands, some are bassinets with removeable legs, and some are cradles with rockers. Each is different, with no two exactly alike.

Every one of the baby baskets I have made are my own design and are made without the use of molds and have stationery hoods. All bases are either made with oak veneer plywood and solid oak rockers or stand, or are of walnut with walnut veneer plywood. Each one is unique and treated with various colors of stain and then varnish coats.

I have begun the arduous task of making patterns for these bassinets and cradles and should have some on the market soon. For those of you interested in purchasing a sure to be heirloom for your tiny tot, please contact me through the information listed below.
