Album: 1870s Wakefield Rattan Chair Restoration

Here is one of the last big antique wicker restoration jobs I did before selling The Wicker Woman studio building in Zumbro Falls, MN and moving to Northern Minnesota, August 2002.

This Wakefield Rattan Company wicker chair is from the 1870s and was heavily damaged sitting in the garage of the owner's home. Someone had stored an engine on top of the chair, breaking the framework and ripping the cane seat and wrappings.
