Double Drive Gate Single Step

Generally speaking, gates should be hung so that the top rail of the fence and the top rail of the gate line up. Unfortunately, land grades do not always allow for this.

Here, the grade of the land drops quickly from where the hook up is the where the gate attached to the post (post to the right). While you could have an odd-height gate manufactured, it is more common to step the gate down, as pictured below.
