Dumpster Gate

This dumpster is a Dog - Eared Shadowbox. The framing on the two sides and back are 6" x 6" posts and wood backrails. The gate is a standard 2" x Schedule 40 galvanized steel frame with the 2" x 4" backrails bolted to the frame and the pickets then nailed to the backrail. The posts (while normally standard round galvanized post) where spec'd out to be 4" square pipe. To the frame, sealed ball bearing hinges were welded to post and then the gate frame positioned and welded to the hinges.

These hinges are one of the most reliable way to hang dumpster or large commercial swing gate. While three hinges were spec'd for this job, two are more than sufficient for most 6' high swing gate applications.
