Pics I took comparing the old stock '74 heads I had on the old 302 that was in it ages ago. The head on the right is the 289 head and the one on left is the the stocker '74 head. The 289 heads are 54cc units that were fully ported and bowl blended. They were then fitted with 1.94/1.60 stainless SBC valves. These heads were the style tha thad the 'casted-in' rocker arm guideplates, which allowed me to run the SBC valves, and no metal guideplates. I did have these heads flowbenched, and they did pretty well. The stocker '74s were 58 or 63cc (i believe) and had 1.78/1.45 valves.
