"Faux" Damascus

Faux damascus barrels were usually cold rolled steel tubes with painted patterns. "Cold rolled strip is sheet steel which has been rolled to thickness at low temperature in a continuous cold rolling mill operation." The steel is formed into a tube then welded lengthwise. These barrels are modern steel replacements by Mike Ehinger for a c. 1850 Westley Richards 8-bore percussion double rifle.
