Home base: Renaissance Paris Vendome Hotel

A beautiful boutique hotel with pleasant-sized rooms and wonderful amentities (I love the robes and slippers, the Bulgari toiletries, the pool and sauna, and the chocolates on the pillows every evening.) But - the absolute best thing about this hotel is the location. Directly across from the Jardin des Tuileries with the Musee du Louvre to the left, Vendome Place to the right, and within walking distance of the Champs Elysee, Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower. I expected to be using the Metro to get around - but the hotel is so convenient that walking is best.
