rooster family tray

When looking at the design on this great lap/bed tray, you may be wondering about the egg in the bottom right corner. I named this piece after that egg, "There is one in every family". You'll notice the chick is trying to come out feet first. We all have people in our lives that we love dearly who seem to always do everything the hard way. I guess I must have had someone like that in my mind when I painted this piece. There is another unique quality to this piece that one of my painting students pointed out to me. I had no idea I painted this, but it's there. Look at the picture with the arrow pointing and you should see the monkey/chimp face (sideways). Amazing, especially to me because I had no idea I was painting a chimp/monkey face!
