Nicholas, Bishop of Myra

In the 4th Century AD. the Bishop of Myra, Nicholas, was known as a protector of children. Adoring children, he presented them with gifts at every oportunity. He was later declared a Saint and is the model for Santa Claus or Father Christmas.
