Album: Laguna Grande, Gulf of Cariaco

A natural thicket of bays and coves, it's a popular place for crusing sailboats. There are a very few local residents that live in a pueblito hear the west end. We hike the hills on both sides and those views are spectacular, a sample here.

It's a lot like the desert regions of New Mexico, where we lived for many years. The arid climate makes sunlight the prevailing variable in our day - the colors change dramatically from morning until night.
