Album: Amazon trip November 2005
Hungry for adventure after the rehab clinic in Caracas, I felt the magnetism of Tepuy Autana (Autana mountain) - a sacred place for the native people that live in the are of the Rio Orinoco, Rio Autana.
Limited in our travel options due to my back condition, we traveled the river in modest luxury on a medium sized motor vessel. During our stopover at Ceguera, we hiked up the mountain that overlooks Autana - 3 hours up and 2 hours back! It was worth it. The Pirao Indians were lovely hosts and guides.
