Historic Waterfront in Occoquan, Virginia

Spring Occoquan Arts & Crafts Show June 6-7th will find me face painting on the porch at Mom's Apple Pie!

For years, weekend mornings I really enjoyed painting on the Riverwalk, weather permitting, esp in the Spring & Fall. The last fifteen years, I watched the change creep in to this marvelous historic town as seen in the last few photos. The town lost much of it's charm with the onset of developers. I really enjoyed feeding the ducks & geese during my breaks, to stretch out from sitting at the easel. The final action that kept me away began fall of 2007 when recordings of goose calls were played constantly on the Riverwalk to keep the waterfowl away. I went back early spring 2008 and the annoying recording was still playing, so I haven't been back to Occoquan, except for the art shows.
